Finished digging the potatoes. We ended up with a bushel basket full which is not too bad for one short row.

I took a few pictures this morning and have them on facebook so far if any of you are friends with me.

I also have them downloaded to photobucket so as I get time to send them here will do so then will post them to the affiliates.

The home page has a picture of my first success to grow a watermelon. Hoping it will be good enough to eat one of these days! I am proud of it.

It is a lot of work and the reason I am so tired....but it is a good kind of tired.

I am trying to keep active so I do not wind up like my brother in law who had open heart surgery today.

It can also be cut in half, placed cut side down in a large pot,
covered and a little water added, steamed on low heat.

Thanks Joyous and Spice.

Today I planted beets, red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, radishes, kale, spinach and a small plot of potatoes. We pulled the row of dead cucumbers and dying beans and may plant more potatoes there. The new beans are looking great full of blooms.

Lightfoot, did you have a decent rainfall yesterday?
I drove about 5 miles through very deep water, praying all the way
and cutting in and out of the left turn lane. God brought me safely
home. We had at least 5 inches in just one afternoon.

Glad you are home Joyous.

LFF I will keep telling myself.

Today was clean up in the garden. Son and I prepared a place for another row of potatoes (where the cucumbers and early beans were.

I also watered the areas where the seeds were planted yesterday. I am hoping they germinate real soon so I can feed them with that miracle grow.

Right joyous....always prepare for next year.

Some of mine is clearing already and thankful for it will be a while before I can actually work in the garden again until the finger is healed. Hopefully by next week.

I took a stroll through the garden this afternoon when the girls came over to pick the tomatoes. The new radish seeds are coming up so it should not be long for the lettuce too. Hopefully the potatoes will be before long.

Thank you Pat!

Sharing the following at most forums I attend:

Due to the excessive heat wave my fall garden is not making it.
I will determine this week if I should replant.
Not sure if I should because of the timing but at least I might re-sow some lettuce.

Over all the 2014 garden has done well.
I am happy.

Time now to think of clean up and preparing for yes the 2015 garden.
We must always think ahead!

On a personal note: I believe we should give God glory in what we do.
Gardening is something that should be no different.
Without His grace and help I would not be able to go on.
Working in the garden is sometimes not easy.
He gives me wisdom and strength to carry on.
