Daylight Savings Time Poem Empty Re: Daylight Savings Time Poem

Post by Glad E Olah on Wed Oct 28, 2015 10:13 am

No one wrote a daylight poem
So guess I'll try to tell
Daylight time ends  Sunday morn
Savings of light has done you well?

I would prefer time to stay the same
But there are those who don't
Guess we have to go along
'Cause they care less if we won't

Time travels rather fast
'Round and 'round it goes
Six months from now
Daylight time who knows

You're late again, as usual, you are behind the times.
And you are trying to tell me I never wrote the rhymes.
We changed our time, this last weekend, I never told you so.
I cannot do it yet again I guess you all do know.
Now you must wait until the spring and then tell me once more.
But to be fair, I'll ask you now, what do we change clocks for?
I still arise when I awake no matter what the time.
But if I stay within my bed I do commit no crime.
The days are just the same in length if we change time or not.
I'm sorry, though, about the rhyme, I guess I just forgot.

Why you think I'm late my dear
This thought I ask of you
No other wrote the poem
Until I told you too

So if by telling you upon this day
Sparks a rhyme from thee
Then my rhyme was right on spot
And now your rhyme we see

'Tis not my fault the English
Changed time when it did
The USA keeps daylight longer
A week of time we've hid

Those Brits should get with the times
No pun intended
Must find something here that rhymes
Poem is now ended.

Thanks for this poem Glad and ISH. Glad you're always welcome to post your poems over at my place. ISHY will probably never join my new place, he doesn't like my board. Crying now.

Please don't cry, Margie.
For sure don't cry for ISH
He doesn't like anything
even though we may wish.

Just had to bring this back from the past.......Our beloved ISH made a post.... r3

I edited my poem slightly to have it mention we are going forward instead of backward

I shall write a daylight poem
With words I'd like to tell
Daylight time begins  Sunday morn
Savings of light will do you well

I would prefer time to stay the same
But there are those who don't
Guess we have to go along
'Cause they care less if we won't

Time travels rather fast
'Round and 'round it goes
Six months from now
Daylight time who knows

Don't forget to  set your clocks ahead one hour this Sunday at 2 am (those in the USA)....not sure of other countries.

Glad, I like your poem,
but I detest DST.
Didn't our Creator know what was best when this world was set in motion? OKAY, I will stop griping.

Like your poem. I agree it should be left alone. Hubby says they have changed the dates again.
