This explains how I confused Kale with seaweed:

We dug potatoes today....just a bit early but they were planted early and there was no green leaves left....so dug them to give room for the green beans to spread out and have more dirt up around them.

Question: does any one know if there is a squash that grows like a pumpkin vine (not spaghetti squash)? We have a few squash plants that vine out into other plants. Son is trying to stake them. We may have to pull them out if they continue to grow into other areas to far. My other son planted them and did not keep the package. I look at the Italian squash on google and there are some weird looking squash.

Speaking of squash......we have one white squash that is almost ready. We also have gotten three cucumbers so far.

Glad, one year, we set out Zucchini plants, which we bought. One plant looked different, so we set it near a tree on the creek bank. It grew in leaps and bounds. We had to cut the runners back so it wouldn't strangle other plants. Finally we pulled some of the vines out of the tree, only to find squash that looked like a baseball bat. Googling showed a Cucuzza. If only I knew how to post pictures here.

Joyous did you find the picture?

I planted fall garden last week and seeds are up. Going to keep it watered good if no rain. We did get a good shower yesterday.

When the clean up is finished I will take a few pictures but in the meantime I had a special surprise yesterday in the blackberry patch. I had not been in the area of the blackberry bushes in several weeks and had not seen a volunteer tomato plant growing amongst the bushes. Yesterday I noticed it because of the beautiful red color of the tomatoes. I picked them along with some green ones too (normally we have had frost by now so thought I would go ahead and get the green tomatoes). The plant is the huge cherry tomatoes that I like so well. Sure went well in the salad last night!

That's great you still have some tomatoes left in your garden. Plus some blueberries to.
