Tell Us About Your Day

Went with a college friend to the Gilmore Car Museum. Spent most of the day there. Lots of old cars. Did you know some of those Model T Fords retailed for less than $500, when new?

I share your feelings about medical procedures. I have been to ER several times, had test done which I did not want. Only to be told
they cannot find anything wrong. A waste of my and my kids time and another bill to be paid. Now I stay home and wait it out. And yes I realize that probably isn't a good plan, but it's my plan and that's that LOL.

Good afternoon. I'm deleting some of the graphic tags I make other people . Sure does take a lot of time to do that. I didn't realize I had make so many tags either. I won't let it get that bad again, but it seems it gets that way. Yesterday we went to SIEDA to get our Share which is meat and then to Dollar Tree and Hy-Vee Pharmacy to get my diabetic supplies. Got a call from my old friend that moved to Florida a few years ago. We catch up on things and she told me that a year and a half ago she got a divorce from her husband, that she lived with and then married. They were divorced on Valentine's Day. It seems she was staying with him through his chemo for cancer but he didn't treat her right. She find someone else and now her ex is moving out. So she can moved back into her home with her new roommate who works with her for a while. Then after a year he new boyfriend is moving in with her. I'm happy for her but was sorta of shocked to. John and I both got denied on our application for Medicaid . Kinda of sad after all the paperwork and the interview that took over a hour. But what can I say.

My best news is the Service leave of a young Sailor friend. Joe's mom, aunt, grandparents, uncle were all friends of my family, so naturally we're so happy to see him. He has been at sea about 7 months I think. He will be home until May 31. Then we don't know how long before another furlough.

I applied for medicaid when Mary died. She had medicaid that kicked in after her medicare. I was denied as well. They said to apply for a plan at healthcare.gov. No thank you!
Today, we had rain in the morning, but it cleared up in the afternoon. Was at my Mom's for a little over 4 hours. I hope to go there tomorrow too. There's a lot of work to be done before their garage/estate sale Friday.

Took Dawn to two grocery stores in Allegan here this morning. Village Market was too expensive on most of the stuff we needed, so went to Save a Lot. Spent all afternoon at my Mom's.
Came home to messages on my answering machine. One was from Glad.

The computer needed a new video card. When my son took it out yesterday to clean the inside of the computer the card did not look damaged but apparently it was. When I logged into fire fox a few moments ago it told me the video I had been watching had crashed so may that is what happened to the card?? unkown to me but it is fixed now.

I'm really tired. Washed the dish towels.
Let the dogs out.
Went to Meijer for Goulash ingredients,

To an auto store fpr Coolant. $ Tree for a strainer for my son amd tomato sauce which I forgot at Meijer for the Goulash. $ Tree didn't have it, so I bought tomato soup.
Back to let dogs out again as son works until 9:00 tonight and to make the Goulash. I hope it's fit to eat. Yes, I am tired.

Good Evening all. Sorry I haven't been around of lately. Call it lack of sleep. But I finally got a good nap in today. So I feel better. Finally got the Nielsen Diary for television done yesterday, it was just for a week. I don't really want to do this ever again. It was just plain lame if you ask me? No plans for Memorial Day weekend , we're broke. Got the light bill yesterday and they say we owed 600 dollars so had to call them. They told me that was printed up before all the money was given by the churches and SIEDA helped us. Now we just owe $100.31 for June and then we can go on the budget billing after that. That make me feel good.

I usually don't frequent businesses on Sabbath, but our young, Sailor friend asked us to lunch at a Mexican restaurant this afternoon, so I agreed. Earlier, a walk around the garden lifted my spirits . I enjoy the flowers, the birdsong, the little veggies growing from the soil our Creator provided.

My Mom doesn't want me driving all the way out there- concerned about my safety and my finances.
I drove out there anyway today and visited. I arrived there about 10, and my Mom told me they'd only had 3 customers.
I used the shop-vac from my Mom's garage, while I was there, and vacuumed my car. That pleased my Mom!
Then I took Chipper to Shultz park in Douglas. Pets are not allowed in the people park, but they are allowed in the Dog park there. There were a couple other dogs there, so I told Chipper "We can't go here."
Took a long, leisurely route back to Allegan. Then took Chipper for a walk on the boardwalk there. Then came home.

sounds like an awesome day LFF! And I know your mom was happy to see you.

I went to work this morning then came home to fix one son (the other son is camping this weekend with friends) and I a nice roast beef sandwich with lettuce from the garden and a decent tomato from the store. Then I worked in the garden a bit until the storms came. We have had a rough last 4 hours. Seems to be ok for now but more is coming through the western part of Missouri headed my way later in the evening so I may shut down again. Sure do not want to do anything to hurt my computer especially since this past week.

Walked down the sidewalk past the neighbor's house, the water tower field, and halfway past the next apartment complex, before starting our leisurely walk home. Got almost to our apartments, and Chipper heard a fire cracker. I could barely keep up with him the rest of the way home! He sure doesn't like those loud noises!

Nice day here. I took Chipper for a little walk this morning, took a nap, then took Chipper outside again, before I left to go to my Mom's about 12:30.
Was a slow day at the garage sale. We shut down at 4 p.m.; took about 2 hours to pack everything up, as this was the last day of the sale. My Mom got rid of a lot of 'stuff'. She made a good profit, so she gave me $15 for my trouble.
I hurried home and took Chipper out. Then I went to McDonnies to get Chipper a double cheeseburger- no onions. He loved it!

I'm planning an outing for around noon, when I'll take Dawn for a meeting, during which, I hope to escort my little Chipper on a scenic tour along the boardwalk here in Allegan, picking up Dawn around 1 p.m., after which a jaunt to the local pharmacy will be in order, as we retrieve some medications for Dawn. Then, we may take a leisurely drive back to the apartments, where an adventure in cyberspace awaits on the computer, which may consume the remainder of the day, well into the evening, when the exciting nightlife will begin in snoozeville, perhaps even in dreamland.
Then I'll return to my computer tomorrow morning.

Hopefully, the last until I tuck it in for the night. I hate it when the computer decides it's just too tired to cooperate. I understand, though; we're both old and tired. The Causes of Your Mouse Cursors Disappearing Act

Mouse disappearing problems are usually caused by several different factors:

Times when your mac is running low on available memory
Too many open browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox)or software tabs (Word, Photoshop, etc)
Using multiple monitors
Watching YouTube videos (often hides mouse)
Using multiple high-resolution displays (working with two screens or more)
Third party software conflicts also cause a disappearing cursor
Notice when it occursare you having this problem only when you use third-party software such as Microsoft or Adobe?

How-To Fix Mouse Pointer Disappearing Problem

Before you try any of the steps below, click somewhere else and see the cursor returns. If not, close all open apps and restart your Mac. See if your mouse cursor is back. If the cursor has not returned or you cannot close and restart your mac, continue the trying the solutions below.
1-First make sure that there are no connections or interactive issues

For instance, make sure that your mouse if turned on, if you are using a wireless mouse. And check the battery level of your mouse. If you happen to use a mousepad, try a solid color rather than patterned or multicolor. The color or pattern differences sometimes confuse your mouse.

If you configured interactive corners (Mission Controls Hot Corners) on your screen, try and move into an interactive corner when your mouse cursor disappears, oftentimes it reappears just by doing this simple step. It seems that flipping to a Hot Corner restores visibility to your mouse cursor.

Some readers report that even when they dont have hot corners configured, opening up Mission Control appears to restore your missing mouse cursor.
2-Use Your System Preferences

Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > Cursor Size and change the cursor sizeMouse cursor (pointer) disappears; invisible / missing; fix
Or go to System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Zoom -> More Options button and check Enable temporary zoom. Simply hitting Ctrl+Option brings back the mouse cursor

3-When you cursor becomes invisible, switch your windows and press Command (⌘) and Tab

Go to another app then return back to the app that you were using Command (⌘) and Tab Keys. This often works if this problem occurs because of a bug in the app. Youre basically switching back to your active app
4-Visit Your Dock or Your Menu Bar

When your mouse cursor goes invisible, simply scroll blindly to below your screen dock (usually at the bottom of the screen.) Then scroll back up again. Your mouse cursor should reappear.

Mouse cursor (pointer) disappears; invisible / missing; fix

Alternatively, move your cursor all the way up to the menu bar, at the top of your screen. Once there, select a menu and click. Invoking a menu click often brings your cursor back.
5-Try Your Trackpad or Touchpad

If you have a trackpad, perform a three-finger swipe to the right on your Trackpad so that you get the Widgets screen. Wait 10-20 seconds and then do a three-finger swipe to the left to get back to the Finder and the cursor reappears!

Mouse cursor (pointer) disappears; invisible / missing; fix

Alternatively, try a four finger swipe up and down on your Trackpad or Touchpad. A simple and fast solution!

WHEW ! Lightfoot, you gave explicit directions and I need the Geek Squad to follow them. You and my two older grandsons could converse endlessly.

My day is nearing the end, but it has been a lovely day. I set out tomato plants, beet seedlings, Blue Lake bean plants, Marigolds alongside the tomato plants . I'm rather pleased with my oval garden. At each end, the rows are semi-circular. The center rows are straight, I'm fairly certain. It bothers me no end when I finish and notice irregular rows, but it's then too late to rectify.
After a shower and lunch,I walked to the mailbox and to let my GR;doggies out. On my way, I met a new neighbor. She appears to be in her 50s or near. I reached to shake her hand and she informed me that she indeed would shake my hand, but not that of a man as the Bible says a man must not touch a woman. I doubt it means not even to shake hands, but who am I to argue.

Unfortunately, my memory is about an 8th of an inch long and I have no printer. Thanks for all that help, LFF, but so far my mouse has always returned. I know this computer is an ancient tool, so I think it could be too much memory rather than too little. It gets confused. I am back to test it again; I have a couple farms that need to be harvested after 7:00 p.m. and before 8:00 this evening, and I can get a friend to log me off if it's stuck. So far, that's all I can do about the shy cursor.

Good evening all. Been a long day and I'm a bit fed up with things here online to. I have been doing some thinking and have decided that after 17 years of doing message boards maybe I should retire from it. I have a new hobby and I opened up a group on Facebook called Pals over Fifty and right now we have almost 150 members. I also have pen pals to write to and I enjoy that again. Sometimes we exchange stickers, bookmarkers and postcards. I have one pal from England that just wrote to me. I use to do this long ago and I was 13 when I started it and let it go after I had a good job. Now that I'm retired I got back into after my good friend Vicky told me about all the pen pal groups on Facebook. Vicky and myself use to be pen pals back in the 70's when I lived in Calif and she lived in Iowa. When I came back to live here in Iowa, we met and have been bff ever since. I will still do graphic tags for others since I like doing that of course. And of course my eyes are not getting any better either. So time to say goodbye to doing anymore boards for me , will quit in Sept after the 3rd anniversary.

Margie, if you need a break from the message boards by all means do so. I have noticed some changes in the boards too. (including our SATW). People just do not have time to stay all day on the internet. I am guilty as anyone for my extra time is spent at the arcade playing relaxing games. I have been thinking lately that I will try to visit the affilates of SATW more often and by doing so I find some that have their links here have either made a diffferent place or even perhaps deleted my name for I cannot get in. So I am thinking of taking off the thread that has my list of forums and just visit those I know I can get in.

Snowden it is time for me to change the background. I am sorry you are having trouble reading. I will try to get a larger font for you. Wonder what color background is best. Any suggestions anyone?

George's day here today. Don't know who George is, but it was a georges (gorgeous) day! We took Chipper for a little walk on the boardwalk this morning. I felt an urge to go home, so I took Dawn and Chipper home.

After I'd done a little reading in our alcove, I went to Save a Lot for a few things, and stopped for an extra large maple nut soft serve ice cream on the way home.

Seeing as I'm visiting the casino 'play for fun' websites more frequently now, my computer is slowing down in the evening, as my RAM gets full, and virtual RAM has to be used. Maybe I shouldn't be on the computer so much.

Good morning all. Just send out a bulk email to let everyone know that my board will be closed after Sept 30th. I will be deleting it that day and I let every know my reasons being it. Oh by the way Glad I love the colors here. After Sept is over I can spent more time doing other thing besides being stuck on a computer most of the day. But I will visit the boards that I have been with for years . Including this one.
