Good morning all. Another warm day in Iowa. We need rain badly so been praying about it. Did do a bit of housework yesterday and make a early lunch. Not cooking today. Need to finish up some letters and send them out. Just have 3 more to answer here.

Very quiet here, I have moved ! Staying with my son and d-i-l for awhile. I have been told I have bone degeneration in my spine and shouldn't be alone. Since my daughter works 12 hour days and my son works from his home, this is best for everyone. Quite nice really, they spoil me : ) . It might be temporary, we shall see. mrchair

I've worked out a system that is working better and better, Joyous.

We're due to have thunderstorms every day for the rest of this week and Sunday. The one good thing is that by Sunday, the temperature is expected to reach 82, losing 10 degrees from what we had today. Odd that the pressure of storms reaches beyond the air conditioning to make it so difficult to breathe.

Hope the arrangement continues to work for you, Peanut!

As expected, I haven't done much today. Was up by 6:00, took Chipper for a walk, back in to some computer time, took a nap, had pancakes for breakfast, took more computer time, another nap, drove Dawn to a noon meeting, during which, I went to Save a Lot, Family Dollar, and got an ice cream at Sweet Temptations, picked up Dawn, took her home, had more computer time, another nap, ate spaghetti for supper, took Chipper out, went back to computer time, and now I feel another nap coming on.

I'll be glad when the stormy weather clears somewhat, as breathing is more difficult this way. That will be next Monday, apparently! I find the oxygen does help; I thought it was something I would never use.

Glad, have a wonderful trip and come back refreshed, if not rested! God bless you.

We are beginning to need rain here in South East MO. I picked beans this evening and explained to my son how to cook them. There was one yellow squash. And several cucumbers. When I get back there will be loads of cucumbers.

I talked to my mother this evening. She is very excited about me coming but she is still in quite a bit of pain. The pain meds are creating stomach problems which they are working to correct the problem.

Everything is all packed now except for the small cooler for insulin and water/soda.

I am leaving SATW in good hands. I encourage ya'll to stop by and visit even if I am not here. I will be thinking of all of you while I am gone. Thank you all for being such wonderful forum friends.

I will try my best to get in here and also facebook if a strange computer allows it. I wrote the exact links down plus the passwords. My sister in law in FL is on face book a lot. So I may be posting to my page under her own name especially to face book but I will tell you.

Thank you for your prayers.

Have a safe trip Glad. Will keep your mom in our prayers. Looks like rain here but nothing yet. It's been 3 weeks now since we had any here. Please pray we get so soon. Today John and I went to Millstone to get our coupons for the Farmer's Market. Then to SIEDA to get our 10 dollar gas card. Got the air on already this morning. Did laundry early and still have a few towels to dry and another load to do later on. Very humid here today suppose to be in the upper 80's.

I know how it is when the absent children come to visit. I haven't seen my middle son for over two years; we are just to far for him. He has asthma and a busy church to run, no deacon to help with services so he can have a vacation. And my oldest son lives in Norway, so he comes for a lightning visit each year that he can scrape together the money, but he has a daughter and grandson in Illinois and a son in Virginia and so we don't get to see much of him when he does come.

That's the trouble nowadays Snowdon, Children do not stay close to home and then we see little of them. Its very sad and I regret my son moved to America and then died there. I'm hoping my daughter will stay settled in the UK as she lives just over an hour away and I get to see her most months.
I was up at 4.30am today as the sun was half out and the bedroom too light. Couldn't get back to sleep and now feel rubbish. Not much on today after yesterday being really busy as we just got back from a month in Spain. Just catching up with friends right now. I have a big project on helping a woman in S.Africa emigrate away as the blacks are murdering whites there and she and her family are not safe. A woman in her town was gang raped by blacks last week and nothing is done. Its white genocide there.

Good morning all. Finally got a bit of rain here but still not enough. Went to the local church for the food drive yesterday. We didn't have many people as we usually do because of the heat. Usually there till 5:30 pm but not yesterday we were all done before 4:30 pm. So went to get John's medicine and got a few groceries and came home. Today I need to get a few things done here at home so no plans of going anywhere today.

Just got up from a short nap.
This morning, after I had some French Toast, I took Dawn to Good Will and the Salvation Army Stores in Otsego and Plainwell. She found a couple of things she liked. I stayed in the car with Chipper. (I always tell her to take her time.) Chipper loves the attention he gets from people who walk by, and say hi to him, as he pops up by the open window to see them.
We took Chipper for a little stroll around Northside Park there, and the children playing there didn't even come over and see him. He was so disappointed at that, but happy to be out with us. I can't believe the people here at the apartments with bigg dogs like Labs and Boxers, who only take them out to relieve themselves.
While we were out, Glad sent me a text, saying that they were only 6 hours from their destination, so I'm assuming that she was still in Alabama.
Went to the Hospital pharmacy to pick up Dawn's prescriptions, and came home. Been catching up on my emails, and playing a bit in the free online casinos.

Good afternoon all. I'm happy to hear Glad is doing well. Thanks for letting us know this my friend. Sounds like you were busy yesterday. I spent the day at home and was lazy. Today, I got up early and did a load of laundry. Also dishes of course. Haven't been fixing any big meals because our little air conditioner doesn't go into the kitchen. We just have a 110 here but it's better then nothing. Hubby make a call to a lawyer this week. It was about when he had heart surgery and it seems their is a virus in a warning system they use. He had a interview about it but don't know if they will use it or not. I guess the CBC is involved in this now and some people don't know they have this virus it won't show up from any where from 2 weeks to 5 years and one could die from this. Got me worried now.

Hi joyous. Yep. Pretty peaceful yesterday. Kids outside were watering my car and my office window with a sprinkler for close to an hour, and not even playing in the water. The neighbor lady yelled at the kids, and spoke to the manager. The hose is not out there anymore.

Took Chipper for a little walk this morning, then took Dawn to get her prescriptions, bought gas at 2.29 a gallon, and came home. Dawn left for the weekend, so I got a dbl.cheeseburger and fries for Chipper and me.

It is a rainy gloomy morning here. Around 11:30 last night we were both sound asleep when the phone rang. It was the weather emergency. Scared me half to death when I was in a sound sleep. The sirens were going off as well. But like Kenny will tell you I can sleep through anything. Still cloudy out this morning. Later on Kenny is going to grill and my sister Crissie and Kenny's brother are coming over.
I had to work yesterday but off today. Kenny had both days off. He cleaned and did laundry yesterday so I have the whole day to relax!

Also have new bank account so had to visit four websites to change card details. Took forever.

Took Chipper for a walk on the boardwalk again this morning. I was all psyched up to ride the zip line across the river, until we found it's closed on Monday. Went to the bank (laughed manically all the way there. (only a mile, but it irritated Dawn, because she didn't understand the joke- about laughing all the way to the bank). Then, we went to the Riverside party store, and of course the ever popular Save a Lot grocery store, before coming home and taking a long nap.

Good evening all. Finally got some much needed rain on Sat and even the tornado sirens went off. But we had no damage or high winds to speak of. Which was good to hear. Trying to rain again this evening but not much. Had a nice, quiet Father's Day here. Today got a spammer on our board , so had to delete something. This person got into the front door so now everyone including guests have to log in. I got all the personal information and put them on the ban list. Then I go to my group on Facebook and have another surprise. Some one wants to join our group but I can't tell if they're male or female and they're a radical so guess what? They don't get approved. Thank you Facebook. Went to get a few things today. And I was trying to park the van , by backing up and straightening out and was looking back and then moved my head forward, and here comes a truck headed for me. Good thing the brakes worked. Idiot.

I got a call from one of the assisted living places and they'll send me material. My Hospice nurses are afraid I may regret it, as they charge for everything and I am very limited in what I can pay. Also, it means giving up whatever independence I now have. If only the architects in South Bend put showers on the first floors of the houses! But I reckon the houses are too old; the house I grew up in had no such accommodation either. Even the bathroom was an addition. Later, my father turned the pantry into a powder room, but even then there were no bathing facilities on the first floor.

The nurses have a good point. And you might not have internet access.

I took Chipper for a short walk at 6 this morning. Had breakfast and a nap, then took Dawn to a noon meeting. Walked Chipper on the boardwalk at noon. Went to Dollar General at noon, then home again. Feels like nap time again.

One of the assisted living places, I guess. The nurse has hospice looking around to find one with an opening at that time. One of them offered to show me around this afternoon, but I'm just not up to doing it. Getting out of this house is a challenge. Steps everywhere. I'm going to have to get to a dentist in due course, I'm afraid. The tooth still doesn't hurt, but I don't want it to get infected.

Chipper had me up at 2:30 and 4:30 this morning. Napped on and off. Had breakfast at 7, some computer time, took Minnie out from upstairs, took Chipper for a walk, more computer time, and now, I'm going to take another nap.

I think they are looking around because of the set date of July 18 through 22nd. They may have a Hospice House -- there was one in Virginia, I believe. But it's vacation time for most families and it could be that finding room is a challenge. I just hope they find somewhere! If I have to pay for a motel room, that would be expensive. I may go back to Norway with Addison in August, if he can arrange it. We talked about it this morning. It would be a permanent move. Then we have to get my clothes and pictures there. The rest of my things, with few or no exceptions, can be tossed or given to whoever may want them. It's unlikely; I would have to be entered into their eldercare system among other things. So we're just putting out ideas to consider.
