George's day here today. Don't know who George is, but it was a georges (gorgeous) day! We took Chipper for a little walk on the boardwalk this morning. I felt an urge to go home, so I took Dawn and Chipper home.

After I'd done a little reading in our alcove, I went to Save a Lot for a few things, and stopped for an extra large maple nut soft serve ice cream on the way home.

Seeing as I'm visiting the casino 'play for fun' websites more frequently now, my computer is slowing down in the evening, as my RAM gets full, and virtual RAM has to be used. Maybe I shouldn't be on the computer so much.

Good morning all. Just send out a bulk email to let everyone know that my board will be closed after Sept 30th. I will be deleting it that day and I let every know my reasons being it. Oh by the way Glad I love the colors here. After Sept is over I can spent more time doing other thing besides being stuck on a computer most of the day. But I will visit the boards that I have been with for years . Including this one.

When it comes to talking about my day,
There's not really a whole lot to say
This post will be very small
because I haven't done much at all
I took Chipper out at an early hour
Then couldn't sleep, which made me sour
Had pancakes this morning , and they were great!
But sadly, I'm afraid I overate.
Maintenance man came, then went on the road
Had to get some parts to fix our commode
Now I'm writing this all to you
All caught up, so this post is through.

Well put, LFF. Not a good day here; well, the weather seems good. Clear and sunny. I slept without any sleeping aids and still am half asleep I seem to go back and forth between this sleep lethargy and not being able to seep. Very strange.

I'm glad you can nap and relax, LFF. I told Ben today that I think it's time to find a nursing home or whatever for me. Just walking to the powder room exhausts me. In fact, I barely make it breathing. I hadn't expected to go downhill so fast, but that's life. I'm in good hands. I just hope I can get closer to home if the family here leaves Indiana.

Quite the poet, Lightfoot. Our dear old friend would have critiqued.

Snowden, it saddens me to even think of not having you in my life.

Today was ironing day for my Polish lady who is 100 years old. She has been through a bad episode the past few days. Such a strong, brave woman. God willing, she will soon enter His peace.

Tried to take Chipper out at 3:30 this morning, because he'd scratched at my chair. But once I got him outside the apartment door, he wouldn't go up the stairs to outside the building, so I took him back inside the apartment, and he picked up a toy. He'd wanted to play. I told him "It ain't gonna happen, so go to bed!" I sat back in the recliner, and Chipper begrudgingly laid down on the afghan Mary'd made, and is now his bed, under the TV stand. He laid his chin on his paws, and stared at me, pouting.
Dawn was up at 6, making coffee, so I went to the back room, and turned on the computer.
At about 9:30, one of Dawn's friends picked her up to go to some event in Otsego, so I took Chipper for a walk on the boardwalk. Brought Chipper home, and tried to get Minnie to go out with me, because her owner, Terri is working, and Dawn is gone for the weekend. Minnie wouldn't even get out of bed, so I went back downstairs to the computer.. Went back up at 1:30, and finally coaxed Minnie out of bed, took her outside, walking around with her for 10 minutes or so, in which she did her thing. Then I coaxed her back inside, took her back upstairs, went back downstairs and took Chipper outside again.
Back to the computer for a couple of hours, and now, it's almost supper time.

The chaplain from Hospice came. She is an interesting woman. Once a Lutheran minister, she is now a Roman Catholic convert and her only ministry is through Hospice. She was here for a couple hours or more -- time enough that Joyous harvested all my crops, trees, flowers and fish! I think we pinpointed my current complaint -- I'm used to being in charge of something, either my job, my house, my family -- something! I feel like I no longer have a reason to continue living. There's nobody for me to take care of but myself, and I find her boring in the extreme. Nobody much to talk with -- ditto, ditto, ditto. So I sit and fume and feel sorry for myself, for which there is no excuse.

And there's nothing to watch on TV until tonight when PBS has As Time Goes By for the millionth time, not one time of which I wanted to miss. I can practically recite it, and I love it. Judy Dench is my favorite actress; well, she and Maggie Smith are my favorites.

9000+ posts! A very big mouth!

Oh Snowden. You're such a wealth of knowledge, and such an inspiration to us all here- spiritually and other ways too. Maybe you're not in charge of things, but you give us such direction and leadership, you're very close to it. Besides, none of us is really in charge. God is!

Oh , Snowden that is one of my favorite show also "As Time Goes By" . Also like "Are You Being Served" watched both for many years. Use to get it on PBS here but darn Dish changed the channels on us and I was upset. As a matter of fact they changed all our local channels. Without us asking first. I miss our Des Moines Channels, like WHO and KCCI and now get channel 3 and 33 from Kirkville, Miss. And Channel 41 is from Kansas City. I will call them Monday and see if we can switch back. Wish me luck. Yesterday we ran some errands and boy was it hot here. Air in van doesn't work so we make the most of it. Plus went to try and put in the air conditioner and the electric plug in won't take it now. The electrician put in a new plug down where the air conditioner goes and now it won't work. So now we have to call the Landlord on Monday and get that fixed so we can have air in the house. How lame is that? Suppose to be hot again tomorrow and then cool down sometime the next few days. Hopefully we will get if fixed right.

Well, don't be happy for me with As Time Goes By last night. I happily tuned in PBS (WNIT here) at 9:00 only to find they're having one of their eternal fund raisers, this one with the Beatles. They do this almost every other week. I have the tapes of the show, but they are lost in the maze of boxes that will probably never be found during my lifetime. I don't even have the Netflix gizmo so I can get away from the ads. No wonder I spend so much time on Facebook; but that is getting more and more difficult too -- boring, tiresome. Sorry -- I'm complaining. I'm done with that now. I'll flit over to FB and see if anything exciting is happening. I don't mean the horrors going on in England. Multiculturism, by any name is dangerous, and the current Islamic influx worldwide is a nightmare.

Lightfoot, I hope you had a nice visit with your mom.

Snowden, I too am a "As Time Goes By" fan and have watched every episode at least 3 times, if not more. I also really like "Keeping Up Appearances". "Foyle's War ", a few others. I enjoyed "Call the Midwife", "Home Front" (Or was it "Home Fires" ) ?
I too tire of FB, but keep visiting each day. I should go now to check the farms.
My day:
Two loads of laundry, shower, let the doggies out, checked the garden. It's hot here, but not unbearable.
Margie, my car also lacks AC, but after two summers, I'm used to it.

I sure used my a/c today- both going to my Mom's and coming home. Was 86 outside when I got home. I'd turned the air on low before I left, shortly after noon for Chipper, and the temperature in the living room was 70 when I got home. Had a fan blowing the air down the hallway, and the temp in my office was 72.
My Mom, Sister, and I cleaned my Mom's deck, sorted out pots and lawn ornaments; then sorted more stuff in the garage. We had my Mom sit in a chair, and had her tell us what to toss, what to keep, and what to set aside for the July 4th garage sale.

She's wise; you feel lost for a while when all the things you've lived with and taken care of are suddenly gone. It's probably for the best in the long run -- at least for the children. The fact remains that we see ourselves, our lives, in the possessions we had. Giving them up is part of this life; they are just "things," but our lives have played out around them until they almost seem to be, or to have been, a part of us.

Oh yes. My Sister and I, the only 2 kids, have no real use for any of this stuff. and there's so much my Mom won't ever use, but there are things that contain a lot of memories for her- from the years she and my Dad spent together- married just shy of 69 years, that are not memories for us kids.

Thanks to a friend in Australia, I looked up elder care in Google and find there are three assisted living facilities right here around Notre Dame. Affordable, thanks in part to the VA adding to my income if I go to one of them. Showers, three meals a day, showers, computers accepted, showers -- you may think I am anxious to be where I can take showers. In case I forgot to mention it, all have walk-in showers available! Sounds do-able to me.

Took Dawn to the Dentitht this morning. Chipper and I napped in the car. Then Dawn sat with Chipper when I went into Harding's Market for grapes.
Stopped at Save a Lot, on the way home, for Milk and paper towels. Again, Dawn stayed with Chipper. I brought in 6 carts from the cart corral, since I was going in anyway. Got my stuff, took it out to the car, and seeing as I was bringing my cart back in the store, I took it to the cart corral, and brought in 4 more to the store. A lady asked me if I worked there, and I told her "No. But I'm going inside anyway, so I figure I might as well bring some carts in." She told me I was awesome! The cashier thanked me too, because, otherwise, she'd have to go out and get the carts during slow times at the register. Had to leave 2 small carts in the corral, because it's hard to bring 2 sizes in.
Stopped at 'Sweet Temptations' (Like a Dairy Queen), also on the way home, and got soft serve ice cream for Dawn and me- Maple nut for me, and strawberry cheesecake flavor for Dawn. Gave Chipper about a tablespoon of mine. He loved it!
