First things first:

Lightfoot, have I opened Pandora's box ?
Yes, rest is good, but you may not use it
as an excuse for neglecting Chipper's
daily walks. 2lol

candle I absolutely detest Daylight Savings Time.
It is proven fact that the time change does harm to
children and some adults (I think)

Afternoon thunder storm, not bad, just rather Blah !
It did interrupt the Michigan State football game.

Chipper did not get a walk today. I don't think walking in the rain would be good for either one of us.
If so many people don't like the time change, why do we still have it?

Why do we still have a lot of things we don't like ?
Because politicians do not govern as a Constitutional Republic.
Politicians "rule" by whim and they have us over the proverbial

Lincoln was brilliant, but he may have had flaws.
Andrew Jackson is highly esteemed, but I dislike his decision to cast the Cherokee from their native land, sending them over the Trail of Tears freeing more land for the European man.

Washed whites.
Put away some summer clothes.
Pizza for lunch.
Let doggies out.
Spent time on PC, FB, Shout, email, watched a few episodes of an old series "Maigret" a detective on the Police force.

So sorry about your Niece, Peanut.

My day started early. After taking Chipper outside, I spent a good hour and on the computer. Then, Dawn came in the office, and told me "My coffee maker died." Went to the kitchen and looked at it. Yep. It was dead, so I I told her to get her shoes on, and I'd take her down to the Sunoco station (the closest place) for a cup of coffee. Then I took her to Shopko, and bought her another coffeemaker, and some Cold-Eze, which Snowden recommended years ago.
Came home. Dawn made pancakes and eggs for me. Spent more time on the computer, till Chipper woofed at me, signifying that he had to go outside (and he sure did have to go outside). Then I sat out on the patio with Dawn for a while, and came inside for a nap. Got up, cleaned my bathroom, made a fresh pot of iced tea, and here I am!

Margie I hope you feel better.
"Starve a fever, feed a cold." (I think)

Lightfoot, may your (or Dawn's) new coffee pot give you many cups.
Post the new photos.

My day yesterday:
What I recall most is following my 18 year old Gr.daughter through Kohl's while she contemplated
how best to choose her birthday gift from Grama. Fortunately my daughter/her mama agreed to accompany us and I had someone at least partially my age to converse with.
Kohl's had given me 30% off plus 4 really enticing coupons and what better way to use them.
I learned when Maggie was a toddler that she is a Shopaholic. I had bought her a dress which didn't fit. I took her with me to exchange it only to learn that she desired that dress AND another ! The child wasn't even talking and LOVED shopping. How often have I sat waiting, or tagged along, holding her possible choices while she perused every rack in sight !
How I love that young lady.

My day today:
Coffee, grits with salsa.
Dressed and drove to jump start my son's truck battery.
BINGO ! It started without a jump.
Back home for lunch.
I usually don't shop on Sabbath, but I will be far too busy
tomorrow morning to shop. Therefore, I ventured to Meijer
and purchased what I need to make my family's type fruit
salad. Also ingredients for Green bean casserole and a few
things for my son.
Home again coffee, a bowl of Death By Chocolate ice cream
and opening my email, which means responding to SATW.
Have a happy day my friends. I wish more of my friends
would join us here.

Dawn went out with a girlfriend this morning- was visiting thrift shops for hours.
Put up another string of lights. I have about 120 of the old-style Christmas lights on our little 10 by 10 foot patio. And the lights are all blue! I took Chipper for a walk on the boardwalk today, and after Dawn got home, we went to Save-a-Lot for foodstuffs. Having meatloaf tonight!

Love the picture LLF!

I am very tired this morning. We drove 2 hours there and 2 hours back yesterday to Pastor's Sister's husband funeral. He was a retired Army Veteran and was buried on Veterans Day. Full military rites too. He had been in ill health (was 89) for a long time and it really is a blessing he is in no more pain.

It was a long drive from the funeral home to the burial place....took 45 minuets in the funeral prossession. There were people standing along side of the road salutaing the herse. There had been some type of recognitaion of it being a military funeral. The prosession was very long. We were about 6 cars from the end and when we went up hills or around bends in the road we could see just how long it was.

Afterward we went to the little Baptist church where Ben attended and they had a wonderful meal for the family. Our Pastor insisted we come to eat with them. Then we drove home. It was about 6 pm when we got home. We began our trip at 8 AM.

It is cloudy today. At church we will have a missionary come to pick up 600 boxes for Christmas gifts for those children in Mexico. I helped fill the boxes and will post pictures.

Today marks one week since the church massacre in Texas. Continue to keep them in your prayers.

Have a good day all!

I think most of our Veteran's Day tributes occurred yesterday. There was a ceremony in Veteran's Park, here on the riverfront in Allegan. It was being set up, as I walked Chipper on the boardwalk. On the way back to the library, where I parked my car, I walked up through town, to avoid the honorarium, so I didn't disturb the people there. Tomorrow, government offices will be closed.
I slept well, waking at about 4 this morning for elimination of some of the iced tea that I drank last night. Chipper followed me, so I tried to take him outside, but once I got him outside the apartment, he just laid down, so I took him back inside. I then watched 'Homicide Unit- Istanbul' with closed captioning. After the movie, I tried reclining a bit, but coughing kept me awake, so I came here to the computer- might take a nap later, as this will be another Sunday I don't visit my Mom, due to my viral condition, which could be harmful to my Mom in her leukemic condition. Dawn is making French Toast for me.
No other plans here. Wishing you all a good day!

Okay. I broke down and went to see my doctor. She wasn't in, but the receptionist said we can get you into the walk in clinic, but it may take a while. Dawn was out in the car with Chipper, but she'd told me that it was okay if it took a bit.
So I said I'll wait. I waited an hour and a half, seeing other people come and go, so I decided to make an appointment for another day.
Seems I got overlooked somehow, and the receptionist was so apologetic, and said "Let me see what I can do." She went in the back, came out, and told me I'd be next.
Anyway, I've got bronchitis They gave me a breathing treatment with a nebulizer. Then sent me home with prescriptions for a steroid (Prednisone), and an antibiotic (Amoxicillan).

Prayers, LF. Chicken broth. Lemon-Ginger tea. Plenty of fluids, but no sugar just now. Sugar fights the healing properties for transport through your body. No foods which are hard to digest. Soups and broths for a few days. A crushed garlic clove in the soup will do wonders for you, but make sure the medications are not incompatible with garlic.

Hi all! I think I went to bed early last night, Dawn woke me up about midnight, when she went out in that kitchen and rattled those pots and pans (From the song, Shake, Rattle, and Roll). No. Really, she got up to get a bowl of cereal.

Then, Chipper got me up at 3:30, when he pawed at me to go outside. Had to take him for a little walk to the other end of the complex. Then I slept in till 7:30, when the phone rang.

Took my blood pressure 6 times last night. Ranged from162/87 to 168/89 sitting to 171/89 to 180/75 standing. My pulse rate ranged around 77 to 78. My normal pulse rate is about 60 to 63. I'm not on BP medicine, but I'll call today to make an appointment with my doctor. I happened to think- it might be the steroids I'm on too....

Here's wishing you all a great day!

Lightfoot, you seem to be on the right track.
Regarding the shower curtain, it hangs outside the tub.
The liner, which should keep the shower curtain from getting wet, hangs inside. I suspect someone left the curtain bottom inside the tub! That wouldn't be me.

Glad, anything changed with your meds ?

Just walked around to let doggies out, and back. Brrrr, plenty cold with a strong wind.
