Yahoo has changed it's name

The past few days I have been trying to check my email on Yahoo. I couldn't for the life of me get on. I soon found out a bit that Yahoo has changed it's name and now goes by Oath. This is the pm I got from LLF.

When you clicked that 'oath' the other day, was it a notification that Yahoo was changing your email address to an 'Oath' address, since Yahoo and AOL are being converted to Oath?

I won't be going back to the new place, anymore. But I want to thank LLF for letting me know this. I just want to pass this along to anyone else that has a Yahoo account

I'm also pleased with Gmail.
Do you access your Gmail with your browser, or do you have a stand alone mail program like Thunderbird that checks Gmail for you, Margie and joyous?

I still have my yahoo account but rarely use it....the only mail I would get would be junk for I changed the forums either to charter.net or to g.mail.

I started having trouble with yahoo mail over a year ago and they kept changing my password and I would have to get another one. It was a mess.

Yes I sure do have gmail. I have had it a long time but keep forgetting my password. Now I have it down pat till the next time. LOL!!!

LOL Margie, I too am terrible with passwords.
I now write them down in a small notebook,
which I keep in a small basket near my recliner.

Lightfoot, my g,mail shows up on the ? task bar ?
and I just click on it,

So you have the website pinned to your taskbar at the bottom or side of your screen, wherever you have it?

If you're talking about the toolbar that runs from right to left, above your browser window, and below the navigation bar, that's probably the 'bookmarks', or 'favorites'
, depending on the browser you use, which shows the various websites you have chosen to save as favorites .
The task bar is the bar that shows the 'windows' or programs you have open.

Be sure and change important contacts to your new Gmail address. Any others, I wouldn't worry about.

I saw a notice pop up telling me about the yahoo change and what I needed to do. Not being a techie. I ignored it. I have g.mail and google. I wouldn't know how to change and not sure if I want to.

Apparently, they're going to change your account over to Oath, and any emails you get at yahoo will go to your oath account, if I understand correctly.
I don't have a yahoo account anymore. I closed it years ago.

I don't have a yahoo email.
I have a hotmail which is strictly
for ebay.
My personal email is gmail.
Does google belong to yahoo?

Google has nothing to do with Yahoo.
Hotmail is Microsoft
Google is it's own entity.

Finally did get Yahoo and my email straightened out now. I signed a new agreement but Yahoo isn't my home page anymore. That's fine with me . I have a different email address and I'm happy.

Margie, I'm glad for you. You have more internet savvy than I have.
When the yahoo window popped up on my screen, I ignored it for fear I would get something I didn't like or want. I sure do not wish to change my email address and have to let everyone know the new one. I hope they just leave me alone.
