I wrote story about my dad yesterday on Facebook. Here's what I had to say.

Tomorrow is the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Which was June 6, 1944. That day my dad Sherman J. Oyler met his General Dwight D. Eisenhower in Normandy , France. Before my the 101st Airborne Division parashuted behind enemy lines . The morning before dad was in the mess hall eating breakfast. Eisenhower was greeting the troops and asking if anyone was from Kansas. One of the troops came into the mess hall and told dad that Eisenhower was wanting to talk to troops from Kansas. Of course that was my dad, so he came out and then when Eisenhower asked dad his name. Someone say tell him your name Oyler. Dad was tongue tied because Eishenhower was his hero.
