Glad, when did your mother enter nursing home? I was under the impression
she still lived in her own home. Happy 98th birthday mother of our Beccie!
How blessed you are that she is still in good health.

My mother was in a nursing home when I went to see her in 2017......she had fallen and broken her knee cap.....by August she was back in her own apartment again and has fallen once last year but nothing broken that time. She is determined to live on her own.

Stories About My Mother Empty Re: Stories About My Mother

Some things are better left unsaid. I always tried to love my mother and honour both my parents but they were both abusers and my mother appeared to hate me. I had a terrible childhood at their hands and felt nothing when they passed.
I don't know why God put me with such evil people but in his wisdom I had lessons to learn.
I loved my children and they meant the world to me. I cannot understand how parents can be cruel to their children but its happening all the time out there.

2Anne sometimes we do not understand the why of things....I am so sorry you had an unhappy childhood with your mother.....perhaps this is what made you one of the best mothers in the whole world.....be rest assured God has loved you and blessed you in other ways throughout your life. I know one thing for sure you have written a powerful story in a book and again thank you for sending your book to me.

Stories About My Mother Empty Re: Stories About My Mother

Post by 2Anne on Mon Feb 25, 2019 3:11 pm

I had a memory about my mother and I had to laugh. She was and always had been a miser and worshiped money.
One day my husband and self took her and my father out for a meal at lunchtime. We paid the bill and left the waitress a tip on the table. My mother hovered round the table and as I watched she picked up the tip and pocketed it. She didn't realise I had seen her. We got to the door and as she went to exit I said 'What about the tip you picked up?'. She didn't even blush but said ' Oh I forgot to give it to the waitress'. She then went and handed the tip over but obviously had I not seen her she would have taken the tip as if waitresses earn a fortune anyway. She could not bear to part with money.

I feel the same way about my latest poem.....I get so angry at people who get abortions especially late terms one. Just down right evil but that is my opinion. At least I got the words off my chest when I wrote the poem.

Honestly Glad,I find abortions so upsetting I try and hide from them. However I support pro- life financially. You were brave to write that poem. As a nurse I saw miscarriages and tiny babies much wanted dead. It was hard to see but we were expected to take it in our stride. It always upset me. I regard abortion as murder.

While I'm opposed to abortion, I find mercy for some young girls who perhaps fell at a moments weakness.
For some female who was raped and became pregnant. For desperate, poor women who have no strength to say no to their husband and not money enough for birth control. Abortion is far too easy a way out for those who choose it over the pill or whatever method available.
I believe it a sin. I also believe God forgives if one truly repents.
Abortion after the second trimester is no doubt murder.

In the U.K. ALL Contraception is free. This includes “ the morning after pill “ . There is no excuse or valid reason for abortion here. If you can afford abortion you can afford contraception. All procured abortion is murder in my opinion.

I believe some abortions are free under the Planned Parenthood here.
Not sure about contraceptives.
What do you tell a girl who was raped?

You say that baby is half of you to a rape victim. But the morning after pill will prevent such a pregnancy.

2Anne, I'm more than half way through reading your book.
I got the Kindle version.
I can tell you, I realize what I thought was a traumatic childhood
was nothing by comparison. My pain wasn't physical, more an emotional trauma.
I also see that there are many similarities
in our childhood, schools, lunches, chores. etc.

It still amazes me that so many mistreated children often become
wiser, more balanced adults than pampered children.

Thanks Joyous. I wish I could say I was a normal balanced person but childhood memories have followed me even to old age. I’m not sorry for myself but am damaged as are my sisters.
Thanks for buying the Kindle version of the book.
I don’t buy many books on kindle as you can often buy real books cheaper and pass on when finished with. If you are an avid reader you can sign up and pay a fee and get many reads free.

2Anne, I finished your book. It amazes me that you even had a meal out with your parents after you married. If I had been treated so badly, I believe they would have seen the back of me forever. I give you tremendous credit for creating a good life for yourself, for breaking away, for not killing Reg and Hilda as they slept.

I was 3 and a half years old and totally happy with our life atop a mountain. Then my Mama died.
Daddy had his job and couldn't possibly care for a three year old, so I was sent to live with an Uncle and Aunt that I knew nothing about. It goes on from there.
