I Love fishing. I usually go about twice a month. Mostly we take our boat out to the bay where the fishing is easy, and we can catch some nice size fish for dinner. On the odd occasion we would go out in the deep seas for competition. It's the most exciting of all. We've won two competitions for pulling in a 5 ft 8 inch fish and 5ft 3 inch shark. It's a battle to calm those irate Mama-fish! But, I love it...think it is very exciting.

Take me fishing with you islandhoney. I used to bait a hook pretty good too. Guess I could still do that.

My Dad was always fishing, (it seemed)
But we ate healthy.

Last winter a very nice younger man and his lady
friend caught us nice fresh fish from the colorado river,
and we very much enjoyed them.

They live on Vancouver Island, and we might get to see them
in Sept. if they are home. Will invite them for a supper to meet our Son.
I think Steve would like them.

The only fishing I do is for compliments, and I don't get many of them!

My folks used to go ice fishing a lot, but not anymore. I could never get into it.
I know there are some countries where that's the only kind of fishing they do.

I used to own a prawn trawler before I retired, I'd trawl for prawns(shrimp) most of the year, except late winter early spring I'd trap snapper and handline for mullaway, snapper and tragelin. My best handline day was 750lb of snapper in 8 hours only reason we stopped was we ran out of bait oh and beer lol!
I'll post a picture of the good ship "Wendy Joan" when I can find one!

Not actually fishing but:

It was the summer of 1965 and I had just moved to MO from SC. Bill (late hubby) and his brother Bruce went frog gigging and brought home some frogs to fry the legs. Wow did I get a surprise when I placed those frog legs into the hot oil! They started jumping everywhere! Wonder if Bruce and Bill talked about such events while enjoying the luxuries of heaven?

RE: Ice fishing. My husband enjoyed Ice fishing.
I;m glad he never asked me to go. I am not a fan of any sport that involves cold. He tried to teach me to snow ski. I spent all the time on my backside.

Lovely boat Bruiser. My 3rd son, Tim has a boat. He and his wife took her mom and me out for a morning on a lake. I enjoyed that very much.
several people I know love cruises. Not for me. A lake is OK, but I have no desire to be stranded so far from shore.
