Received a robocall today. “Hello,” the robotic voice said. “This is an apology from your electric provider. You have been overbilled for third-party electricity distribution. You are entitled to a refund for the amount overbilled. To receive your refund, press 1.”Needless to say, I didn't press one.

Right LFF~!

I have been frantically trying to straighten out my debit card. A fee of $1 was used from Sams Club which I had not used my debit card. I called the bank....they told me they were going to issue me a new card....that someone may randomly used a series of numbers for $1 to see if it went through then they would have made a big purchase. Needless to say I was scared for nothing like this has happened to me. Anyway the new card arrived today so I am glad to get it taken care of. The bank advised me to check my account on a daily basis to just as a precaution.

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

There is a new scam every day it seems.
Glad, I'm happy that banks are on top of these
scams.
Once, I ordered something from the UK. This
was in late evening. My bank called to ask if
I had placed the order. Good to know they're
looking out for their customers.

Speaking of scams, recently I had a call asking for
donations to the Police fund. Yes, I have heard about those,
but thinking of all the flak the police have endured lately,
I promised a small donation. Not wishing to give out my
Bank card number, I said a money order or check would
have to do.
When the information came, I called Flat Rock police and
she told me to tear it up. She said the police do not
solicit donations in that way. I tore it up.

Sad, but you can't trust anybody anymore. I just tell them I can't do it.
Another point is if you get a call, and the caller asks if you are (your name), never answer 'yes'. They can record you, and insert your answer in a different question.

True, LFF. Also I heard that we should never say, "Yes" as they can use it in a contract.

I had a call that seemed fishy last week.
I said, in a gruff voice,
"What do you want?"
Then I hung the phone up.

If anyone calls me, and I'm not home, they're greeted by an answering system that answers with "Thank you for calling 'The Blues Chaser'. The office is now closed, but we check our messages frequently, so please leave your name, number, and a short message at the tone. We'll return your call just as soon as we can."

I've been getting all sorts of emails telling me I have either $4500 or $5500 in stimulus money coming. I don't fall for it.

Oh no! That's really my business card! I have my name blackened out in the image. Don't have my phone number on there, as I haven't rented office space yet.
I received an email today that could help me there. The email states
"I am Mr. Manuel Franco the current winner of $768.4 million in powerball lottery on APRIL 23th, 2019 drawing, I want to inform you that i'm donating {$12.5 Millions} to 5 random individuals from any part of worldwide and if you get this email then your email was selected after a spin ball. I have spread most of my wealth over a number of charities and organizations. I have voluntarily decided to donate the sum of {$12.5 Millions} to you as one of the selected {5}, to verify my winnings please see my interview by visiting this link below.
Oh wait! I received another email that says
"I'm diplomat Rev Augustine David I have just arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport with your valued consignment box of $10.5 million dollars 45 minutes ago, please reconfirm

your home address.................
nearest airport........................
Your Direct Telephone..................."
Now I don't know which to accept!

I don't care for scammers at all. I use to get email's like this to LLF. I just delete them period . Got a phone call here a while back from Amazon, saying I owed 700 dollars on my account. Why would I order that much, we only get Social Security and I knew something was wrong. I called the place, they weren't Amazon at all. They say I didn't need a bank account number they got my information off my the internet account. They wanted me to get on my computer and told me where I should go. I of course say No. They called several more times and I say to them if I have that much stuff, where is it. They hung up on me. I did call Amazon the real company and they send me a email about this scam. They, the real Amazon say my account, though hasn't been used in a while is still safe and sound. After the fact I got one more call saying I owed 530 dollars now but I hung up. These people use different phone numbers including ones in your area and they're all foreign people so do yourself a favor. Don't give out any information. Just call remember if it is Amazon they will send you a email about your order. Otherwise it's a scam. They also told me, the scam artist that they were going to take the money out of my bank account. I didn't give them my bank account information either. You can also call you bank and let them know , plus your phone company and attorney general. I also have a list of other places you can go online about these scam artist. Hope this helps.

Seriously, as far as Amazon goes, I have a number I can call to talk to a real person. It's 1(866)216-1072.

Margie, I'm glad to hear from you!
LFF is right. Never ever say "Yes" when you get a call.
It could be recorded and you have agreed to some scam.

LFF, now that poor man will have to hitch-hike all the way
from the airport and risk some less than honest person
robbing him of ALL that money that would have been yours.
As I have been told, "There is no free lunch."
