A poem written a few years ago.

The Gift

A beautiful gift is under my tree
A special gift has been sent to me
I can hardly wait until Christmas day
To open my gift that has come my way

It‘s wrapped in paper with care and love
Surrounded with angels and a white dove
A big candy cane is taped to its side
Giving the impression it’s there with pride

The colors of the ribbon shine and glow
Like the splendor of a pretty rainbow
The package is too large to move around
And if you shook it you would hear no sound

Before long arrives Christmas day
To open the gift that came my way
The anticipation to what’s inside
As I un-wrap the gift with oh such pride

To my surprise I found within
God’s gift to free me from my sin
Jesus was born to die for me
I’ll share my gift for all to see

You can have the same gift just like mine
Show the world through you his light can shine
Say yes when Jesus calls you today
And the gift of love will come your way

I had posted the following on my facebook page on this date in 2014......not sure if I had posted it here if so sorry for the repeat. I had forgotten it had been written and wanted to post today. It does serve a message that Easter has more than Chocolate Bunnies and Candy Eggs. Easter must have been a bit later in 2014.



EASTERS GONE BY

I strolled down memory lane
To Easters gone by
Knowledge I should gain
And to understand why

I know Easter bunnies and such
Are for kids to enjoy
I feel truly out of touch
As I pray for each girl and boy

The candy and the flare
Does not fit for true
That in reality we care
Jesus died for me and you

Chocolate rabbit and the jelly bean
Marshmallow peeps and dyed eggs galore
Does not set the scene
Jesus died took our sin and more

So when Easter comes on by
As it does so every year
Find time to think of why
And keep Christ with us dear

What a lovely poem my friend.

As most of you may have noticed I have been sorta missing in action lately.  Just down in the dumps this time of the year but after today I plan to spring back into full speed .  I wrote the following recently in honor of my late hubby.  Yesterday was my oldest son's birthday and today is the anniversary of Bill's death.  Seems strange even after 15 years these two events being a day apart.  Each year James reminds me he is glad his dad did not die on his birthday.  As he is mentally challenged it is sometimes difficult to have him understand.  Anyway here is the poem which is untitled at the moment:

The Bible

In the Bible you will find
Answers to questions any kind
Pick up one for your life today
Those answers will soon come your way

Read the Bible to come aware
About the Love God has to share
Find within each and every page
Wisdom for life at any stage

Life at times seems so cruel
But God has a special rule
When we trust Him and obey
He sends comfort to our day

Remember the child’s song of old
The greatest story ever told

I have a poem I wrote a few years back, which I intended to post.
I put it somewhere. I just don't know where that someplace is.
I also cannot recall enough of the poem to rewrite it.

Gift of Love

The heavens afar
Revealed a star
Shining bright as day
In a humble manger
Born to danger
The Christ child on a bed of hay
The story of
A gift of love
His light with us to stay
And since His birth
Upon the earth
Christmas is with us always
