Month of May Poem

Anyone interested in sharing a poem they have written about the Month of May?

I will work on one soon.

I see lovely flowers
on the near roadside
as the Spring tells them
they no longer have to hide
Flowers popping up here and there
in the oddest of places
or in structured rows and beds
with smiles on their faces
Tis wonderful to see them
at random or in beds
often with lovely little bees
buzzing round their heads
One sees hope anew
in this simple rebirth
Hope for the future
Hope for the Earth.

Very nice LFF! You have a talent for expressing words in rhyme!

Thank you. I allow a little freedom as far as the rhythm goes, which ISH would take exception to.

LFF, I love how you create a flow with words.
For me, this is one of your best poems.
Ish and I almost never agreed where poetry was concerned.

Instead of creating a May poem, I wish to share a lovely May poem which I remember from school days.

May

Merry, rollicking, frolicking May
Into the woods came skipping one day;
She teased the brook till he laughed outright.
And gurgled and scolded with all his might;
She chirped to the birds and bade them sing
A chorus of welcome to Lady Spring;
And the bees and butterflies she set
To waking the flowers that were sleeping yet.
She shook the trees till the buds looked out
To see what the trouble was all about,
And nothing in Nature escaped that day
The touch of the life-giving bright young May.

LFF, I learned it in Elementary school, but I had forgotten the last two lines. Therefore, I googled it and
also learned the Author.

Another poem from school:

Oh sweet little Pansies of many a pretty hue
Your dear little faces, some yellow, some blue
You stand for remembrance, I shall never forget
The morning I found you all velvety wet

May Flowers

May is my favorite month

What with the flowers in full bloom

Love the smell of spring

Crisis and fresh like a morning dew

Especially when I think of you

Life is to short to let days like this go

Remember to take advantage of it

Because one day , we won't be able to.

Month of May

The month of May brings changes in nature
To the earth and to each creature
Trees and shrubs have blossomed out
While the heat of the sun has come about

Gardens are planted everywhere
With veggies we begin to share
Temperature rises as the sun shines
While spring rains come just in time



School kids are a happy bunch
Summer joy they love so much
Mamma seems no more stressed
To get them neatly dressed

Enjoy your May while you can
Soon summer's heat returns to man
Then we will chat of barefoot days
As we soak up the sunny rays

I agree Glad, Ish was unique. I just want LFF to know it isn't a contest. He too is one of a kind,

We're all unique in our own way.
That reminds me of a riddle. If you saw a unique rabbit, how would you catch it?

LFF, a niece told it this way, "How do you catch a Nique?" "You neak up on it!"

There's no fooling you, joyous! :)
