August Poem

Do you know what August is?
It's the last full month of Summer.
For those of you who like the heat,
Oh, what a bummer!
But if you're looking for relief
from high temperatures and sweat,
Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.
It's not autumn yet.
Some schools are starting this month
much to some kids' chagrin,
yet some are happy about this.
They get to see their friends again.
So August is not just another month
It's a month to treat with respect
It may bring just everyday things
or something we don't expect.

In the month of August
Kids go back to school
Also you may find
The weather begins to cool

When summer's heat
Begins to wind down
We know that we
Smile instead of frown

But one thing we
All should know
It won't be long
Until our first snow

So as we end August
Give out a loud shout
For now fall and winter
Begin to come about

Cool in the morning
with fruit on the trees
slowly ripening, they know
how to please
Summer dresses are put
on hold and out come
the jackets ,it's getting cold.
Summer came and went
so now I sigh, no looking
back just a fond goodbye
September is near so smile
and remember those warm
June days and not December.

Not my best but a contribution for August.
Enjoy the last days of summer as they are going fast

Asking for total happiness is useless before Christ
returns, I think.
