No. They don't have a fenced in back yard anymore. Mary and I have to walk the dogs 2 to 4 times a day, and take along plastic bags.

We took most of the cans off the pepper and tomato plants. As soon as the remaining few cans come off I plan to get pictures. The garden is beginning to grow now. A few items are not up yet but won't alter the pictures much.

The last two days we have gotten a lot of need rain.

Put shallow pans of beer where the slugs are. They're attracted to the yeast in the beer, when they come out at night. They'll climb in the pans, and drown. You can then dispose of them in the trash.

Sprinkling Aluminum sulfate around the plants might work then, but it also might turn your blooms blue. And I don't know what that would do to the fruit of the plant.

In a week or so maybe the beans can be planted along with squash, cucumbers, okra, tomatoes and peppers.  It is starting to be warmer except for a few cold nights when we need to cover plants.

Cabbage and broccoli growing nicely.  Will get a picture soon.

Bringing back this post to say:

Peas are making little peas now

Carrots are up about the height of your ankle

Beets  came up spotty but are making little beets

Spinach eating lots of spinach

Lettuce eating lots of lettuce too

Kale almost ready to eat

Swiss Chard came up very spotty but what is the is growing good

We have been eating broccoli and cabbage too.

Took my cup of coffee out with me as I walked the garden just now. I noticed the cucumbers are spreading out and they have blooms and some have little cukes. I saw is less than two weeks we will be eating them. Guess I'd better buy some vinegar!

I had to come in because it started to rain. Not a day for picture taking. Maybe if the sun comes out.

Took new pictures today and will get them downloaded as soon as possible. Most were taken at a distance to get overall view of the garden.

LFF's bush is almost as tall as me right now. It usually blooms mid to late July. This spring I told son to keep the excess mowed off before the circle was too large. I may transplant some next spring to another location.

Wow! A lot of thought went into that garden design! A lot of work has gone int it. It's looking great! I kind of miss gardening, but not too much.

I'm happy to see that that Heliopsis took so well, and is looking well too!

Thanks LFF.

Son designed the garden and I would say it is about 90% completed design wise. Some of the edge blocks need to be reset in places but that will happen when garden is done for the year.

I have yet to post son's new project. He is building me a green house and just recently started construction. When it is further along will begin to post the pics unless ya'll prefer me to post them in the early stages.

Makes no difference to me, but pictures of a project at various stages may be advisable for when you want to look back after completion.

My sister and her husband had a contractor gut out a 100 year old farmhouse- changed it from a 7 bedroom to a 1 bedroom house. I helped with much of the demolition, so as I look at the various stages in her album, I reminisce some.

ok...will get the pictures posted of work on green house so far.

Very early stages so remember that fact and the work is being done in son's spare time. (slow process)

Digging potatoes today.  Not happy with them this year and I think I can blame too much rain.  The potatoes are average size to smaller which are not too bad but they have knobs on them as they would be trying to make potatoes on each potato.  And some of sprouting.  It looks like we will have potatoes to eat for awhile.  Thinking of planting more for fall in a few days.

Finished digging the potatoes. We ended up with a bushel basket full which is not too bad for one short row.
