DAILY CHAT 2021

The little pink guy, Vlad, woke me to go to the jim at 4:45 this morning.  Then, I took Chipper outside.  Came back in and checked my vitals, took my pills, and started my day on the computer. 
Will be taking my car in for an oil change this morning, might stop at Aldi's, Village Markup, and Family Dollar.  Hope to take Chipper for a walk too.

It is miserably hot today.

Son needed new shoes so I tagged along this morning with him to Nearly Perfect Shoes.  He found two pair.  

We bought groceries and went to the Bread Thrift store also.

I took a long  nap this afternoon.  Seems like that is all I get done anymore.

I find myself taking more naps too, Glad.  Think of them as mini-vacations, and, they're free!
Dawn called me before I left for my oil change, and asked if I could give Michelle, a friend of hers, to the bank in Allegan, and home again to Plainwell.  I was going to be in Plainwell for my 9:00 oil change anyway, so I said I'd pick her up at 10.  My oil change didn't take very long, so I went to Aldi's to pick up cheese,and other stuff.  Then, I went to Michelle's, then took her to Allegan.  On the way back, I took her out for breakfast- me too.  Gave her my card, with my phone number.

I looked at my calendar this morning, and I see the only plan I have is to give Chipper his Revolution topical medication.  I probably should take Chipper to town for a walk when the threat of rain passes.  I hear thunder rolling.  Right now, I'll have some Chocolate Chip pancakes.  Have a good day all!

I'm searching my memory banks, what did I do today?
As usual, pulled weeds, watered a lot of garden by hand,
with gallon jugs of rain water, took pickles to a neighbor, 
went to Walmart to spend the $50.00 which BCBS adds
to a Card once each three months, visited my doggie.
We just got outside a few minutes when rain came down.
For which I was thankful. After being inside awhile, rain
stopped, back outside, then his food, his treat, a little 
playing with his squeaky ball. He was tired or bored
and let me know it was time for me to go home.
Did I mention that I LOVE that little dog?

I don't believe you've ever mentioned that, Joyous...  I'm kidding!
Speaking of little dogs, I've been checking all week at Village Markup here in Allegan for some Ground Round Olive and Cheddar Burger that's advertised in this week's ad for 6.99 a pound.  They make their own, but didn't get the ingredients shipped in.    Here it is Thursday, and they still don't have it (and will not offer rain checks).  I called their store in Gobles- a 20 minute drive away, and they had it there, so I drove there to buy the 6 half pound patties they had.  I'll have to call tomorrow, and see if they're making more, because Chipper LOVES it!  I grilled one for him and one for me.

Friday today.  I'll call Village Markup later this morning to see if I can get more burgers for Chipper.  Did laundry yesterday, and I still have to hang up my shirts.  Have no other big plans except to take Chipper for a walk.

I will cook dinner for my sons today since they "fended" for themselves yesterday so I could enjoy a birthday lunch out.  I will fry chicken and cook green beans from the garden and have mashed potatoes with chicken gravy.

Also writing a check for a book that was published about my momma's home town of Summerville PA.  I will cherish the book.

I was in town walking Chipper, so I stopped by Village Markup.  They still didn't have the stuff for the Olive/Cheddar burgers.  I'd sent an email to the main office about that.   When I got home with Chipper, I had a message from the manager of the Gobles store.  Apparently, my message had been forwarded to him.  I called him.  They're going to make up 20 burgers for me, and I'll go pick them up this afternoon.
Oh.  Sheri called this morning, and asked if I'd go to walmart and pick up some receipt books for her.  I went up, got her old book and $20 from her.  I then went and got all the receipt books they had, and brought her the books, receipt, and change.  She said "Thanks Michael.  You're the best!"

Glad, I would guess you're a mighty good cook.
That fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy
makes my mouth water-as the old saying goes.

I don't know if the medication changes my taste-buds
or the problem with teeth causes it, food just seems to 
have lost a lot of flavor. Only salty food is really enjoyable
and naturally I'm supposed to restrict sodium.

LFF, you are one determined guy aren't you! Good for you
for calling headquarters to get the burgers. Chipper is a blessed doggie.

I sound like a terribly boring person. Garden work and the little dog.
Such excitement!

Had to add some spaghetti to Chipper's burger tonight.

Mornin' all!  Felt good to sleep in this morning.  Angie from upstairs here brought me 2 loaves of Texas Toast yesterday.  Said it was on sale at Village Market. so I guess I'll have to make French Toast this morning.  Will pick up Dawn at 2 in Otsego.

I have a retort, but it isn't ladylike, SO ! 

I have putzed (I know there is a word putzed!)
about most of the morning, pulled out lettuce which was going up to seed.
Now I'm going to visit my favorite doggie.

I took my favorite little doggie for a 44 minute walk this morning.  It was a half hour walk, but when Chipper wants a break, he plops down wherever he is.  And it's almost never where I can sit down, so there I am standing with a lying dog at the end of my leash.  When I did get him back to the car, I opened the door, and when I reached down for Chipper, he rolled on his back for a belly rub.  A lady walking by remarked "That's so cute!"  I replied "He never misses an opportunity."  And he doesn't.

Will be a cool day here  today, with scattered showers.  After I take Dawn home around Noon.  I'll be heading out to my Mom's for a visit.  No other plans yet.

I did a load of laundry.
Now off to a Bridal shower.

I went out to my Mom's and visited for a while.  Left my smart phone there.  I'll get it tomorrow.

A lovely Bridal shower. Italian males also come to showers. Perhaps other
nationalities do now, but in my younger days, it was a Female thing.
What I enjoyed most was discussing the problems besetting our country
with my grandson and his Italian cousin. I stopped for a short visit with 
Little Chuckie. It's always good to get home.

I'm not a bride, but I will get a shower this morning because of the mosquito spray I used last night.  Will be headed out to my Sister's today to be there for a telephone repair guy.  Will walk over to my Mom's at noon to make sure she takes her noon pill.

We picked cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash.
I scrubbed the kitchen floor.
Visited Little Chuckie.
I'm tired.

Didn't go to my Sister's because their line got repaired before they left for the day, but I did go out to my Mom's, and I did go out to Michelle's to loan her 80 bucks.  Will probably see her tomorrow.
Ran my dishwasher tonight- first time in at least 2 years.  It didn't leak!

Today is Dawn's birthday, and she shares it with Penny, who lives at the other end of my building.I'll be joining them for breakfast at 9:30.  Penny's riding with me

As planned, I went to breakfast at the Village Inn Restaurant yesterday, with Dawn and Kevin, Penny, and Annette.  Years ago, Kevin had given Dawn a 'friendship' diamond ring, when she and Kevin shared an apartment and Dawn had returned it when she moved in with Vern (long disastrous story).  Mary and I rescued Dawn from that situation, and Kevin held on to that ring and hope.  Yesterday, Dawn proudly showed off the ring, as she'd accepted it from Kevin again.
Anyway, after breakfast, I took Penny home, then called Michelle,drove out to Plainwell, gave her a ride into Allegan to conduct some business, and then she treated me to lunch at Culver's.
Today, I'll take a little nap.  Then take Chipper downtown for a walk- no other plans.

Okay LFF, I understand about the non-member thingy.
It seems that you have scads of females flocking around. (Joking)

I hope Dawn and Kevin remain friends or whatever relationship
they desire.

Today I did garden work, went to Meijer, visited Little Chuckie
twice, chatted with my gr.daughter/sort of a go-between with
her and my daughter.
I think I will go to the $Tree to buy a sympathy card for my
cousin whose wife recently died.

Here we go again.  Expecting a lot of rain today.  I'll be leaving in a couple of hours to head out to Plainwell.  Will visit Michelle, then we'll meet Dawn and Kevin for lunch.  Have no idea about after that.

Michelle finally allowed me to come in and see her place- nice little side of the duplex.  We joined Kevin and Dawn for lunch.  Went well. 
Took Chipper for a walk downtown, got gas at 3.29 a gallon.  Was 3.02 yesterday.

Okay.  I'm having a piece of chocolate birthday cake, with chocolate whipped frosting this morning for breakfast at 3 a.m..  Was thinking of the 50,000 dollars I won in a dream, so I couldn't sleep.  What a rude awakening I had, when I realized I hadn't won it...
I'll probably take Chipper out.  Then take a nap.  Then get up and take Chipper downtown, if it's not raining.  Have no other plans as yet.

So my birthday cake finally arrived in your dream LFF?

I am thinking of Marianne Hart (Snowden) today.  Her birthday would have been yesterday.  I know she is dancing with her loved ones in heaven and probably has met my mamma.  

Guess it is my age??? but I seem to know more names of the people no longer living than those who are in this world.  Such a cycle.....life is.  

I took my grandson to get his shot yesterday......he has to get one each month.  He is doing some better and wants to find some type of work......the community counseling center is not much help.  He is needing some type of medical insurance....I feel so sad if our country can help the illegal immigrants why can't they help him?  The do provide the shot for him thank goodness.  Thank you all for praying and please continue them.  

Before grandson's appointment yesterday we went to eat Chinese and he enjoyed it so much!

Today I will make refrigerated dill pickles.  Cucumbers are doing well this year.  I made one large jar already and they are waiting to be eaten in a few weeks.  I always let them sit in frig for a couple of weeks before eating.

Yes.  Life is like a train ride, on which we see many people board the train.  We my spend a lot of time with them, but eventually, the conductor announces their stop, and they get off the train, and we continue...

I have heard the Train ride and people detraining at each stop.
I am almost the oldest living person from my family. I have one
cousin who is older than I am. It begins to feel lonely.
Have either of you watched any movies starring Jon Voight ?
One was "Midnight Cowboy". He was interviewed by Tucker Carlson 
and I listened. He is surprising.

I washed my bedding today. Didn't visit my doggie due to rain.

Joyous because my mother was the only child, my dad only had one brother who never got married, when my mamma passed recently it left me as the oldest member of my family left living.  I did have an older half sister who died a few years ago.  Kinda strange isn't it?

We are getting a nice rain right now.  Son brought in black beans and pinto beans for me to hull out.  A nice beginning for pots of beans next winter.

You're so sweet, Joyous, that you might melt in the rain.
No rain here today.  Took Chipper for a walk on the boardwalk this morning.  A light breeze kept the mosquitoes at bay somewhat.  Chipper often stops and sits under a table by the splash pad, where kids are playing.  I try to look at Chipper or another direction, so parents don't think I'm a dirty old man watching the kids run through the water.
Cut up a Schaendorf burger for Chipper tonight, and mixed a little of Michelle's beef stew with it.  Chipper loved it!

Chipper had up at 2:49 this morning, so I took him outside, and walked around for about 20 minutes.  He peed 5 times, before I brought him back in.  Then I slept in till 8, and took Chipper out again. Taking things slow today.

Glad, I just sent a prayer up for your grandson.
OH, the dry beans sure will be mighty nutritious and tasty 
this winter. Isn't it a blessing that we can grow and put aside
food from this earth GOD has loaned to us!

LFF, LOL I'm not sure how to take the remark about melting
in the rain due to my sweetness.   Seriously, my son's yard is mostly under water when rain comes down so hard and Little Chuckie doesn't like going out in rain. He was VERY glad to spend time with me today.
This is a time when faith is so needed. Without GOD the Father and Jesus His Son,
I wouldn't know which way to turn. There are some very unusual things going on.
Maybe they have always, but I'm more aware now. "Come, Lord Jesus."

Today, after I take Dawn home, Chipper and I will head out to my Mom's.  Will visit a bit, then, as Chipper sits inside with my Mom, my Sister and I will probably do some weeding, at least till I get stroked by the heat....

Visited Little Chuckie. Learned that our trailer park has been sold. What
changes will that make?
Call from my second son (Bill), third child, that he learned he has a 
heart problem that needs attention.  He and my daughter in law 
were visiting their daughter where she is learning to do Echocardiograms.
He had intense pain and she did his, with her teacher there. Now he must find
the best Cardiologist available soon.
I'm trusting the Lord to lead him into good hands.
