46F this morning and fairly heavy rain. No snow so far but was predicted at Christmas. We managed a walk but shortly after we got home it rained again. Definitely a stay at home and keep warm day.

means melting Hip Hip Hurrah! I am past the snow cream days.
Loved snow cream when I was growing up. We only had ice
cream as a special treat so snow cream was a treat.

As you know Joyous South Carolina gets very little snow and when I moved to Missouri the first big snow I saw was a time for snow cream.  Once in SC it snowed enough to allow us to make snow cream and I loved it.....but momma made sure we got snow from the deepest part and before the birds flew over it....also where dog tracks were not seen. She knew all about snow cream being raised in Pennsylvania.

Never heard of snow cream, so I looked it up- Mix 14 cups of snow, 14 ounces of sweet condensed milk, and a tablespoon of Vanilla extract.  I suppose you have to make it outdoors, so it stays cold...

LFF, our Snow cream was made of snow, vanilla, cows milk,
sugar, once we added canned peaches. It was made in the
kitchen of course and eaten right away.
Glad, with Mother everything had to be "Pure as the driven snow!"
She always reminded us, "Scoop only the top, clean snow."
I think I made it for my children, but it wasn't the treat like it was for us.

Warm here been 58F but very overcast and reported as a gloomy month.Record warm temperature for 31 st December  Figures of Covid going up but uptake of booster injection good. I pray this evil disease will go away. It comes from an evil country and they should make reparations.

Okay.  Moving back to the weather, Alexa just told me we're under a winter weather advisory for tomorrow.  Seems we're going to start the year off with quite a bit of snow.
