Well, we are mostly sunny, calm and 72F this morning.

Last evening we got snow so heavy it fell in great clumps from the trees and the roof.
I could hear it so clear. However, this morning it wasn't frozen. So there was snow and water, but not too cold to venture outdoors.
I saw on the internet that N.C. , KY, TN and I think MO had very bad weather.

We didn't get the 4 to 6 inches that was predicted.  Maybe two.

Today has been rather pleasant, snow melting, temp comfortable.
We put some shredded paper and some veggie/fruit peelings into
the compost heap, stirred it up a bit, put the black plastic back
over it with heavy patio blocks to weigh it down.
I visited the doggie I share with my son. I may visit him again
as I suspect my son may have had a trip north of here and may
be a bit late coming home.

If you can get the little doggie to defecate in the compost, it could help add to the pile.

We had rain galore this afternoon.

By the way, the only manure we use for the garden would be cow manure which is aged.
Chicken manure is also good, but never cat or dog.

more snow is set to descend upon Southeast Michigan as we enter the weekend.
Several inches are expected.

We had more snow this morning.
Mostly melted now.

Today we had snow falling about two thirds of the day.
Tiny snow which looked almost like rain, most of it melted
as it hit the pavement. That which landed on the grass did
not melt.
Much to my surprise, I saw a healthy looking Groundhog
searching for food, I assume. Much too early for those
critters to come above ground.

We had light snow off and on most of the day.

Cats tend to stay away from our yard because I frighten them.
We feed the birds and prefer cats leave them to feed in peace.
There are squirrels who persist in climbing the feeder post to
eat the seeds. They could get more by eating what falls to the 
ground beneath the feeder.
