2020 What's Going On In Your Day

When you shower, LFF, be sure to wash your hands.

Wise to avoid being outside too much today.
I went out early, intending to simply peruse
the result of yesterday's labor in the gardens.
10:00 A.M. I finally went inside to shower and
stop garden work. I had picked enough Kale to
freeze a quart, after cooking slightly.
Watered almost everything. Weeded. In a garden,
there is always work to be done, but I'm finished
for this day.

I must explain our handiwork.
First time, we cut the root end of a large onion,
put the root end in a shallow dish of water until
roots begin to grow. Then we bury the rooted end
and this is the result.

If there is a "Next year", we hope to grow several onions this
way and allow them to grow larger. Not bad for a first try, aye!

That's great Joyous! I like onions.
I broke down and took Chipper for a short walk after I took Dawn to her meeting. Chipper sure wanted to go. The, after his walk, I took Chipper home to wait in the a/c, while I went to the store for a couple things., and stopped at Speedway for a fountain drink. I need to get gas, but I'll wait till tomorrow morning, when the temperature is a little cooler, and we aren't under an ozone alert.

You probably should stay inside with the AC mostly.
My doggie was extra thirsty today, I went out to the garden,
again. Put a sheer curtain over the kale because I found the
Cabbage worm on it today, They can ravage a row of kale
overnight if White moths lay eggs on the kale.
Thus the sheer, white curtain.
I also watered some more tomatoes. They require more in
hot weather.
I'm ready for a good murder mystery now.
Have a comfortable night.

Well, I guess I'm not the only one who watches those crime shows.

Going to be a warm one here today. Will be picking up my Mom from American House at 12:15 today to take her to her house in Douglas, where we'll meet with 'Visiting Angels', who hopefully will be helping with her care a couple of times a week, when we , hopefully, will bring her home at the end of July.

LFF, I like Crime series.
However, last night I got started on a series about the mill workers in England
either in the 1800s or early 1900s. Must have been 1800s because the British
still owned slaves in some of their colonies. The name of the series is "The Mill",
child labor was exploited.

Visiting Angels! I worked for an agency called "Visiting Angels" quite a few years
ago. They were in Allen Park. I wonder if they expanded? I know your mom will
be happier at home.

My day began with coffee and a bowl of grits with a dollop of salsa.
Then out to deadhead roses, pull weeds, etc. HUMID! Shower. Now lunch!

We met with them for 2 hours. I think they will work out fine. My Mom is very excited about it.

Going to be a warm one here today, so I don't have any plans.
Yesterday, we met with 'Visiting Angels' for about 2 hours. As it is now, we're planning on packing Mom up on July 30. We'll move her home on July 31. Visiting Angels will start coming on August 3- 5 days a week, 4 hours a day, make sure my Mom has taken her pills,(My Sister will fill her pill dispenser every week, and will set out her pills each day) maybe make a meal for my Mom, put her clothes away,(My Sister will do her laundry), maybe make her bed, or clean up any messes my Mom makes (My Sister has a housecleaner come in every other week for a deep cleaning.), and visit with my Mom. They were impressed with the safeguards we already have in place.

LFF, this sounds really good for your mom.

My day? Hmmmm? Some watering of garden.
Spent time with my doggie friend. He got excited
in anticipation of chasing a squirrel. The squirrel pulled a
disappearing act. Oh well. My rascal did something unusual.
He is usually a creature of routine. When it was almost
time for me to leave, he grabbed his harness, tossed it up
and tried to catch it over his head. Because I appreciated
his cleverness, I took him out again, for awhile.
Very hot and humid here all day.

That is really clever, Joyous! Smart dog!
Did very little today. Was too hot to take Chipper for a walk.
Dawn got really flustered and anxious when talking to someone in Brighton about scheduling her out-patient surgeries. so she had the lady talk to me. I handled things. Dawn appreciates my cool head.

Took a shower this morning, will go shopping at Save a Lot in Paw Paw, and come home. No walk for Chipper today- will be too hot.

Yes, you and Dawn are blessed for being there for each other.
It's terrible hot and humid today.

Garden work is never done until snowfall. I kept at it until I
thought my clothes were sopping wet. After a shower and lunch
I feel like a different person.
I am going out to visit with some of my children later, after
visiting the clever doggie.

Went to Save-a-Lot. Bought $!!* worth. Didn't get everything, and definitely not fresh fruit or vegetables. When we came home, Chipper was so relaxed in the a/c, he didn't even want to go outside.

And today?

Going to be a warm one again today. Took Chipper out for a little walk this morning while the temperature was only in the 70's. I don't plan on doing a whole lot on this Quatro de Julio. People will be grilling in backyards, burning on the beach and such.

I won't. We might go to Village Mark Up Village Market to pick up a few items we couldn't find at Save a Lot yesterday. We don't have a whole lot else planned.

Hope your Independence Day was safe and slightly cooler.

Not much doing here. I managed a visit with each of my children
yesterday evening. My daughter was with me. I always feel kinda
bad that she panics at my driving. I think I'm not a bad driver, but
being a person who is always pressing the non-existent brake pedal
on the passenger side, when someone else
is driving, I do understand.
I visited little doggie twice today.

Took Chipper for a walk while it was cool this morning. Left him home in the a/c when Dawn and I went out for lunch, then to grocery store. Otherwise, have stayed inside most of the day.
I did notice that Dawn often makes the sign of the Cross on her chest, when she rides with me.

Took Chipper out at 5:30. Sat outside with him for maybe 20 minutes- felt good.
Today, I'll be heading out to my Mom's house, as my Sister and I will be starting to arrange things in the house for, hopefully, my Mom's return at the end of this month.

Today I did my usual Sunday morning load of wash.
Watered most of the garden, especially tomatoes,
peppers, beans, cucumbers. Now it's time for resting.

Don't overdo getting Mom's place ready. Very hot and humid.

I'm not sure I will visit my doggie, so uncomfortable outside.

I did ask her about that. She said it's not my driving........

I did go out to my Mom's. We accomplished quite a bit inside. Have a lot of work to do outside there, when this heat spell breaks.

I found out I'll have to take Dawn to a doctor's appointment this afternoon. Will have to fill the poopie bag dispenser in the pet walk area, give Chipper his revolution. Going to be a hot one today, so don't have much more planned.

Dawn is kind and probably a fibber too.

Good idea to put off outdoor work until the heatwave breaks.
Now I should practice what I preach. I was out all morning,
watering garden, spraying garlic spray on the kale, trying to
get rid of Cabbage moths. They lay their eggs on the kale, out
hatch tiny green worms who devour the kale. As I watered, I
was blessed to douse a moth, who cannot fly with wet wings,
so I smacked it and when it fell on the ground, I stomped it!
If that sounds mean, I love critters, until they ruin my food
source.
In the heat and all the negative things going on in our world,
I stayed home yesterday, didn't even visit my doggie. I will
visit him today. I miss him!
Do you ever listen to Steve Hilton on TV? He is conservative
and reasonable. He has some very good ideas for President
Trump's campaign, not telling what he has done during the
past 4 years, telling what plans he has looking forward. He
thinks if Trump doesn't liven his campaign up, he will lose votes.
Sadly, I sort of agree.

I don't know, Joyous. I wouldn't want to be President in a country full of idiots like we have.

Vive' de' Revolution! I gave Chipper his Revolution this morning, after taking him outside for an hour or so. We sat by the picnic bench, as I talked and sang to Chipper. I'll probably take him with us as I take Dawn to a noon meeting today. May take him for a short walk.
I don't plan on doing too much today.

Does chipper singalong? You must make a great team singing away. The weather here is very poor 56F and that's july. I am swimming in the mornings but its too cold later in the day.
Visited my daughter yesterday, its over an hours drive away and saw the baby who was fretful. Tired and teething and Vic goes back to work on Friday as her maternity leave of six months is over. I think there will be trouble and she has a nanny but Oscar has got very mummy dependent and will make a fuss/yell when she disappears into the office. She is working from home so I can see problems up the road. The nanny is lovely and a fun person in her early 50's, she is called Ruth. I wish we lived closer as I do miss them.

LFF, what songs does one sing to their Canine friend?
Mine never stands or sits still long enough for a song.
He does sit when I comb his coat. I'm nor sure if he is
placating me or if he actually enjoys being combed.

I picked beans this morning, watered some of the veggie
garden, so hot and tiring.
Then off to Kroger for a few items. To the Bank. Lunch
and internet/rest.
Now I will visit my canine friend. I may sing to him!

LFF, regarding being President, I wouldn't take it on,
even if I possessed the capability.
These nut cases roaming the streets, the Freeways,
any place where they can stir up trouble.
If I should be taken to Court, I would look the Judge in the eye and ask,
"If law and order are not being upheld, why are you sitting there telling
me what fine I must pay, what sentence I must serve?"
I NEVER expected such chaos to be overlooked in this country.

No, 2Anne. Chipper doesn't sing. He just lays there and suffers through my seranade. I sang 'Twilight Time' to him a few times.
Yes Joyous. Kids must learn some independence.
I took Dawn to a meeting today, walked Chipper a bit, went to the store for some milk, and came home for a nap in the a/c.

I visited my canine friend.
He saw the young rabbit, gave chase, but Rabbit was much faster.
Later he spied a squirrel, which was up the tree in two jerks of a
sheep's tail! Poor doggie missed out all the way around, but he may
dream of the chase and catch both!

Chipper doesn't even chase them anymore.....

I think sometimes our animal friends are smarter than we are.

I asked my daughter if she would bring Little Chuckie
to see me if I die before he does. She said she doesn't
know if they understand death. They do!
Military dogs lie faithfully by their Master's coffin until
he is buried.
"Grey friars Bobby" slept each night on his
Master's grave in Grey Friar's church-yard for five years,
I think it was, rain, snow, no matter. If you haven't seen
the movie, you should. While in Edinburgh, Mom and I
visited his grave. Bobby is buried near his old Master.

Got an oil change. All my fluid levels were good, so I guess I don't have any leaks. Tire pressure was good, no uneven wear on the tires,at least 7/32" tread all the way around. I have a small hole in the muffler. Got a good report, and the bill was 40 bucks less than last time, because Ziegler now has their synthetic oil in bulk, so it's cheaper.

Good evening all. Very hot and humid here today. Temp got up to 94 and heat index was 106. Didn't go any where today. Staying in with the ac on. Will try and go shopping tomorrow. Forecast says rain and cooler temps. Fine by me.

Can't be here long this morning. Will be taking off about 8:00 to take Dawn to Brighton for out patient surgery in Brighton, MI.

Sending prayers that all goes well with Dawn's surgery.


Not much going on at my house today. Going to be hot again but I remember it is July.

Dawn had Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation out patient surgery. The trip there is 144 miles, most of it crowded expressway driving at 75 to 85 mph. I don't care that much for driving like that anymore. I did get 38.5 miles to a gallon though with my Dodge.

Wow that is a long drive LFF! Is that one way? If so close to 300 miles round trip. Bet you are tired! Get some rest!

Yep 300 miles round trip for 12 trips, and once a month after the treatments. Lots of wear and tear on my car.

Brighton isn't far from where I live. Too hot to
be traveling so far, but what can a feller do.

Dawn's surgeries?

I guess I already mentioned what my day was like.
After a bit of gardening and lunch, I washed my bedding.
I went to Flat Rock to the Pet Supply store, looking for a
new leash for my fav.canine. They were priced way higher
than Amazon. So I will order one.

Yes, I have a/c. Now, after Dawn set up 12 weekly appointments, and has gone to one, and wants to continue going there because she likes them there, she tells me that for her monthly appointments following these, she may be able to go to Muskegon, which is a lot closer. I mean, my 2013 Dart has 93,000 miles on it, and after these weekly appointments, I'll have close to 100,000 miles, with all the other running around I do.

I have the a/c on here this morning. The humididity is atrocious! Thunderstorms moved off to the East, and we have light lingering showers right now, so I could get Chipper outside.
Going to take Dawn to the bank today to cash the check her Mother sent for her birthday next week. Can't believe our little girl is going to be 55 this year!
Dawn wants to do laundry today. We might eat out, and there's a wild party scheduled down at the beach later that we may go to.

Hot and humid here too LFF. But we aren't getting rain at my house....some areas get pop up showers in the afternoon but they are missing us.

My day would be so boring to most folks. I took up two rows of garlic,
two potato plants. I only got a few potatoes. I think 5 plants to go. If
I don't get more from them, I won't bother next year. I picked enough
beans to freeze a quart. Watered beans, peppers, cucumbers(I think they're not being pollinated)
showered and took the shower curtain and liner down to launder. Lunch was soup and fried Squash
and Zucchini, . Now relaxing with   I hear thunder. Visiting Little Chuckie may be late.
