2020 What's Going On In Your Day

LFF, you're a good dad.

Today I washed my bedding, showered,
watered some plants in the garden.
A fruit smoothie for breakfast, and coffee, of course.
Lunch was a new soup made by my housemate,
Black beans, brown rice, corn, tomatoes (I think)
Vidalia onion and sour cream, added at the table.
I think it had some other stuff, but I know it was very tasty.
Also fresh yellow squash and zucchini, thick slices, coated and fried.
Really good. Coffee now and later, ice cream. After I see Little Chuckie.

Just got off the phone with Dawn. She had a bad morning, with crying and such. But she said she's doing better now. Said they don't know how long she'll be there.

Took Chipper for an early walk this morning, so I could get home to start getting stuff done. Placed a call to Dawn's caseworker. He called back, he had questions for me, and I for him. I called the Hospital at U of M in Brighton, and Dawn can miss an appointment without adversely affecting her PTNS treatments, so I cancelled this week's treatment, and called the caseworker to let him know.
Next, I can take a shower and wash my hair. Then I hope to do a load of laundry.

Took Chipper for an early walk this morning. Said hi to a couple of homeless looking guys- one was pulling a wagon (He said hi to Chipper), and the other was talking loudly into a cellphone.
Following that, we went to Village Markup (Market) to pick up a few things. Then to Speedway to gas up and get a fountain drink.
Came home , and don't plan on doing much all day.
Oh. I did laundry yesterday!

LFF, I suppose Staff can ignore Dawn's crying, if they know she
has no pain, etc, whereas it's more difficult for you, in a small
living space.

Today, so far, has been spent gardening, eating, here on the PC.
I will be visiting my favorite canine.

Dawn has heard 2 opinions. One doctor said she might be able to go home Monday. Another suggested Wednesday. I'm thinking a month would be better.

I've done a lot of praying about what's in store for Dawn.
Took Chipper for a ride down to the boardwalk this morning. Let him lead me around for about 45 minutes, till I decided to steer him back to the car. Drove to Speedway for my Diet Dew fountain drink fix, and we came home.

If I get a vote, Keep her long enough to be sure
she is in a better place, mentally/emotionally.

I only walked the garden this morning, checked the oil in the car.
Later I have a Birthday party to attend. A friend the age of my children.
In lieu of gifts, she asks for donations to Autism.
Her youngest gr.daughter is Autistic. ?Suffers Autism?

Yes......I got it few days ago. I like it in some ways and dislike it in other ways. I will get use to it but it is taking time. It has windows 10 which I have not had a problem with that. I will probably buy a wireless mouse but trying to learn without a mouse.....kind of difficult.

Just get the mouse and be done with it. Will save you a lot of headache!

I see we're back! Apparently, Forumotion suffered a DOS attack.
Took Chipper out for a nice walk at 6:30 this morning. Stayed inside most of the day after that. Took Chipper outside a few times, and all he wanted to do was lie in the sun, mostly.
The latest in the ongoing 'Dawn' saga is that she may be discharged Tuesday, and as too much change all at once may be harmful, she may be coming home here, so Chipper and I will have to deal with that. I will try to speak with her caseworker tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that, when Chipper and I walked behind the library, we saw 2 white swans swimming from the river into the little bayou there, and they had 3 little one swimming between them. So cute! I wish I'd had my phone with me, so I could have taken a picture!

Looks like another good day to stay inside. Going to be warm and sticky.
Took Chipper for his morning stroll first thing today. I wave to people in their cars- don't always see if they wave back. Waved and called "Mornin" to other walkers.
Did not go to Speedway for a Diet Dew fix. Came home and called Dawn's caseworker. Wasn't able to speak with him, but left a message saying that I had reservations about Dawn being discharged tomorrow. I want us to be sure her meds are right.

PH LFF, I really wish you could have taken a picture of the baby Swans!
I have never seen baby Swans. At the cemetery near here there is a
pond and an adult Swan. There used to be a pair.
Some terrible person killed one. Since they mate for life, I'm not sure
if the remaining one will mate again.

I did the required watering of gardens this morning. Went to $Tree,
and Kroger. In a little while I will visit Little Chuckie. I didn't visit him
yesterday. I needed a day of chilling.
My South Carolina sister called Saturday to tell me a cousin had a stroke
and was in a coma. Today she called to say he has died.
He was just a couple of years older than myself. There are very few of us left.
Enjoy the remainder of this day, my fellow shouters!

Only 78F here, 71% humidity. Just got back from taking Chipper for a short walk. Still kind of sticky here. Came back in, and turned on the a/c.
Haven't talked to Dawn today, but A Physician's Assistant (P.A.) called and talked with me. I expressed my concerns with her (Emily), and she listened intently. The latest is that they may be discharging her on Wednesday to continue her improvement here at home. Emily will have John, the caseworker, call me tomorrow morning with details. Dawn has an appointment with her present psychiatrist in Allegan here, on 8/11, and I'm hoping Dawn will be able to leave her, and change to a psychiatrist at Pine Rest in Grand Rapids. She has an appointment there on 8/18. I don't have a problem with driving her to Grand Rapids.

LFF, does that mean Brighton visits will be
stopped?

I washed the whites, watered the Charity tomato patch.
I hesitate to admit that we're eating the few ripe tomatoes
from the charity patch. Only because they're the only ones
getting ripe.
I had a visit with my favorite doggie.

Seems like everyone is getting tomatoes later this year. We have enough to eat fresh but no canning again this year. We finally got rain yesterday so this may perk up the garden. Watering is just not the same as a good soaking rain.

I just talked with Dawn.  She sounds good today.  She asked if she can miss another Brighton appointment, and start up again next week, so I called Brighton,cancelled this week's appointment, and should be able to pick up again on treatments next week.  Got a picture of the swans this morning:

Oh boy. Here we go again.
I took Chipper to the boardwalk this morning, and we got rained on, so we came home. I'm getting caught up on my emails and notifications. Then, I'll have to take a shower, straighten things up here a bit, then leave about noon to go get Dawn and bring her home.....

First: The Swans look so elegant and the babies are a promise for the future.

Second: I'm thinking Dawn will be SO glad to be back in her home, she will
settle right down

A S.C. cousin emailed me that on their way to the beach, they saw people
picking cotton and it made her think of me. My older sister and brother and
I picked cotton as children. We used the money to buy winter shoes. That
cousin and her siblings didn't have to pick cotton, nor did my younger siblings.
Things had changed by the time they were old enough.

Yesterday I washed dish towels and also my outerwear. Garden work too.
Today was just a trip to Lowes to buy soil for my Cannabis plants. I want to try
making the chocolate candy for medicinal use, I won't smoke it, but it is beneficial
for arthritis pain and other aging ailments. It's legal in MI. I trust it more than
drugs from a pharmacy, except my special cough syrup. LOL I will need someone to
show me how to harvest and cure it.

I think you may need a license to grow it, Joyous. I won't say anything.
Dawn is home, and we seem to be doing okay.

Dawn is home. She slept fitfully. We took Chipper for a walk this morning, and Dawn will be here with Chipper when I got to American House to get my Mom packed up for her move tomorrow.

I forget what I'm writing about. May I ask, why the change?

Today:
Garden work.
A cousin is having colon surgery today. He must be 78 because he is 6 years younger than I am.

Herman Caine died, supposedly of COVID, I would guess he had underlying health issues.

Today, being the last day of July, means tomorrow is August first. Will be my Mom's first full day back home again. We'll be moving her today. She'll be riding with me. Washed my car yesterday, but I didn't vacuum it out, or clear the stuff out of the back seat.

I'm so glad for her.

My cousin's colon surgery went well. He will be in hospital 4 days and his
wife cannot visit him, cannot stay with him.
My youngest granddaughter spent the night here. Due ti seizure possibility,
she must sleep late. Plumbers are coming to her home this morning and
the noise would wake her, so she stayed here. It feels funny to have to whisper,
try to be quiet.
When the Gr.daughter leaves, I will be going to run errands for oldest son and
his mate. Her car needs to be in the repair. The mechanic is too busy right now.
Oh how we miss our Home-Grown mechanic! My oldest son was our Go-to guy
for many years. His brain injury has changed that.

Also for LFF and Joyous. Sometimes we as caregivers need prayer too. Caregivers are those who take care of other's needs even if it is not an every day accurance. (ok spell check lining the word in red...….but I do not know how to correct it with this lap top.....suggestions?

Right click the word for suggestions. And you may be resting the heel of your hand on the touchpad.

Or place the cursor in front of the letter you wish to correct, backspace
and put the correct spelling in. I have incorrectly spelled words in just
about every post.

I believe my son and his lady are both afraid of this virus. I try to set
a good example by not being fearful.
Trying to ignore what is going on isn't working. Facts are facts and our
world has changed and I cannot deny, it bothers me.
