2020 What's Going On In Your Day

LFF, it seems fair that Gator work around your schedule, especially since it pertains to your mother.
So you're getting the snow first? Not fair, I know, but my selfish mind hopes the Snow supply is diminished by the time it gets past your area.

My day has just begun, so who knows?

That sure is a big hike in your bill LFF!

Yes, and our's went up a few dollars too.
Onlyabout $5.00, but still, our usage hasn't changed.
Nor have our incomes.
A few days ago, a lady called to do a little survey.
The increase in our bill was mentioned for sure.

I'll call tomorrow.

LFF, I hope you can get it lowered.

I hope so too. Other than calling about the cable, I don't plan on doing a whole lot today. Chipper let me sleep till 5:21 this morning, so I got up, took the fan out of the gap in the slider ( I usually open the sliding door to the patio a couple inches at night to cool things off for Chipper), closed the slider, and took Chipper outside. He loved rolling in the 2 inches of fresh snow we've gotten overnight.

We had about the same amount of snow. Now it's snowing again.
I didn't do much today.
Visited my doggie.
LIstened to President Trump's speech to the nation.

Took Dawn to Otsego for a haircut and pedicure, went to the Charter office, and, after a lenghthy discussion, came out of there with instead of a 35 dollar increase, an 11 dollar decrease.  Of course, I'm only getting 47 channels now, plus the 40 music channels, but I only watch 2 or 3 of them anyway.  And I got a haircut today too.

LFF, do you have Comcast? Infinity?

February 7 today. My Sister and I will have a conference with a social worker this afternoon in regards to my Mom. I need to eat breakfast this morning, go to the jim, where I'll take a shower, and I really should grille burgers for Dawn and Chipper, because I don't know what time I'll get home today.

LFF, if you and your sister are in agreement, and Mom
is in agreement, I'm sure something can be worked out
which will be best for Mom.
I worked with many people whose child had the total
responsibility of not only parents, but children as well.
Some of my clients could be a royal pain, thinking of
their wishes, not considering their child's situation.
Others were very considerate, asking as little as
possible.
I determined that I will put as little baggage on my
kids as I can avoid.

Today thus far, not much. This afternoon I will visit my doggie.
I may go to Meijer.

I might be taking Dawn to Otsego today. Don't know yet. Had an additional 4 inches of snow last night.

LFF, I heard about the 4 inches of snow.
My sister in South Carolina called to admonish me
regarding snow which she was certain my fan had
blown their way! :  They had creeks and
rivers over-running their banks, washing away
fences, picnic tables, etc. Tornado had done damage
in Spartanburg.

Today had a few minutes of sun, mild, some melting
snow.
Not much doing today. Took both grands to their jobs.
Daughter still not feeling well.
Have any of you listened to Candace Owens podcast?
She is a brilliant, young black woman who left the
Democratic party when she educated herself to the
damage they're doing in Black neighborhoods.
Today she interviewed a man who had childhood problems
which ended with doubting his gender. The LGBTQ
group have infiltrated public schools and are causing
much gender doubt among young children. Interesting
interview for sure.

Never heard of Candace Owens, but I know about the mentioned damage.

If you have spare time, listen to Candace.
She can be listened to and watched on Youtube,
Just a lovely young woman, and brilliant.

Weather looks fine here now, but will probably change for the worse later today, so I have a hunch I'll be staying home today. Have no big plans. In fact, I may take a nap right now.

Was snowing lightly yesterday when I took Chipper downtown for a walk, but the predicted snowstorm did not materialize- blew right over us, like the gaggle of geese that flew over us on our walk.
Today, I have no plans. Will treat it like exposing film. Will see what develops.
Dawn is making pancakes and bacon this morning.

Yesterday: I did a load of laundry, went to Kohl's, bought nothing.
I find shopping tires me. Stopped at Circle-K for gas, $2.09 per gal.

Jumpstarted my daughter's car. Took my gr.daughter to her job at Meijer.

Today I'm rather lazy(What's new, you ask?). I washed the dish towels.
Not much so far. I hear melted snow falling from a very tall tree, onto
the metal roof.
After lunch I will visit my doggie. We haven't seen each other the past
two days. Son was home.
My daughter in law who was on a week-long cruise is home. She has
something going on. Congestion, etc.

Wow! I paid $2.31 a gallon!
I really need tires on my car too, but shopping for them makes me sick at the prices !
Hope that cruise wasn't to China!

My Sister suggested that I visit my Mom tomorrow, rather than today, as she arranged for my Mom to get her hair washed and trimmed today, so I may be able to bring Dawn with me then.
Today, I'll be taking Dawn to a noon meeting, walking Chipper, picking up a prescription for Dawn, then, getting Dawn again, and going for breakfast.

LFF, the cruise was from Louisiana to islands.
However, my daughter in law works with a female who
visited her father in China. On her return, she did not
get checked nor Quarantined. The Beauty shop owner
told her ,"Do not return to work for two weeks!"

I hope you find your mom feeling well and upbeat.

Today is lovely. I'm hoping to go to Value World, 50%
off coupons. To Ollie's for a couple of items. Also taking
Feb. birthday cards to family members.

Good afternoon all. Not much going on here today. Suppose to have snow here tomorrow. But if it was up to me it would pass us by. Suppose to get very cold on Thursday and Friday. Winter is still here but spring is coming up soon enough.

Weather shouldn't be too bad today, so I hope Dawn and I can visit my Mom. Will bring her her Valentine Birthday card. She'll be turning 93. After that, I hope to check out the Nursing home next door to the Rehab Center where My Mom is now.

Visited with Mom. Didn't stay long. She was tired, didn't have her hearing aids in, didn't want them either.
Checked out 2 assisted living homes- a newer one, and an older one. I liked the older one, Dawn the newer.

It's a cold, snowy day here today- good day to stay in, I think.
My Sister visited Golden Orchards yesterday. She liked the country setting, and the fact that my Mom could watch the birds and critters outside her window, but didn't like the fact that the shower is down the hall, rather than in her private bathroom. of course, she'll need assistance for either. My Sister and her husband visited his Aunt, who lives there, and she likes it there.

It looks almost exactly like one I have.
I bought it at Kohl's several years ago
and it finally is beginning to wear out.
I wash it a lot because white gets soiled
easiley. The zipper is giving me trouble.

LFF, I wish you could avoid choosing a Nursing Home
for your mom. It seems since I have known you, Mom
has been in her own place and content. I know! We all
age and things change. Your mom is blessed to have
two children who will make sure she is treated kindly.

I have one coat- a black nylon windbreaker I bought at a thrift store for $5 about 6 or 7 years ago.

LOL LFF, some men don't really care a lot about clothes.
Some do.
Most women like buying clothes, I think. My
daughter isn't much of one for clothes. A pair of jeans,
a flannel shirt, sometimes a more Feminine top. Her daughter
is more clothes savvy, but she is young.
I like classic clothes, a few pieces which are inter-changeable,
items that never go out of style.

Well. Today is Valentines Day. Will see my Mom today . Today is her 93rd birthday. Will have to check and see what time my Sister is going. Also have to call and see if I can bring her a little cake, that I know she won't eat anyway.

Visited my Mom yesterday. She was alert, and happy to see us. My Sister was not able to visit as she had a lot of snow blowing to do. She was finishing the neighbor's drive when Dawn and I brought my Mom's clothes there to be washed.
My Mom's hands were swollen, possibly due to gout caused by the Uric acid created by the leukemia cells that are being killed off by the new medicine she's on. The leukemia is creating new cells at a higher rate than they're killed off, so it's fighting a losing battle. Also, the uric acid is causing a strain on her failing kidneys. I brought my Mom a small birthday cake, which she probably won't eat. (The CNA was going to put it in the community fridge, as my Mom didn't want any yesterday.)
This morning, I had to turn my heat up, as the temperature was 64F inside. We're up to 72 now, and I don't plan on going anywhere today. When I took Chipper out at 2:00 and 6:30 this morning, he didn't stay out long. The snow on the ground is 'crunchy'.

Sorry to hear about your mom LLF. I didn't realize she was that ill. I will certainly keep her in my prayers my friend. Suppose to warm up to the 30's here today. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

These are tough days for you and your sister,

Thanks Joyous. My Sister was supposed to go see her today. I might tomorrow.

I plan on going out to see my Mom today about lunch time. I may have to feed her. My Sister saw her yesterday, and told me in an email that my Mom's hands are so swollen that she can't even hold a spoon.

 Oh LFF, I hope the Aides where your mom is
will be kind and patient with her.
I know you treasure each moment you have with her.

Today I did a load of laundry. Also I'm determined to do
a bit of long overdue cleaning. Bookcases which are loaded
with books which may never be read, I will either read them,
or bag them and give them away. I read one yesterday and
another today. It means less time on the computer. Also
the things I have collected over the years, miniature animals
from Tettley tea, pitchers, a set of children's mugs. various
things given to me, must be dusted, washed, shelves dusted
and polished.
I managed a walk around our trailer park too.
WE began watching the Daytona 500 race until it was rained
out.

You sure are up late, Joyous!, especially considering all you did today!
My Mom was sitting in her recliner today.  One of her hands was looking a bit better, and she seemed in better spirits.  The speech therapist was with her when we went to see my Mom.  The therapist was very nice and patient.  My Mom said they took her into the dining room and fed her there- that it works out better that way.  While we were visiting, Dawn spoon fed her some pudding.  She seemed happy to see us.
I brought her dirty clothes to my Sister's, and reported on our visit.  She told me that my Mom's insurance will pay for 2 weeks in rehab, which is up.  Then they'll reassess her, and if she's showing 'significant improvement', they'll pay for another 2 weeks.  If not, we'll have to move her somewhere, so my Sister will check out 3 other homes tomorrow.  So far, we're agreed on Golden Orchards in Fennville.  It's a smaller place,  in a country setting, where my Mom can watch the critters outside, the rooms are nice, and we like the staff there.

Chipper let me sleep in till 6 a.m. today. I'm thinking I may go to Wally World today to get Chipper some Angus burgers, and Dawn some powder for her water. No other plans. Right now, I think I'll take a nap.

Hello my members!

It has been several days since I have been in and wanted to stop by and give all an update.

Last week I had a busy week mostly with church activities. We had a beautiful wedding there on Valentine's Day and the church was decorated in hearts of red, pink and white.

Speaking of Valentine's.....I hope all of you had a great Valentine's Day. I am planning to change SATW decor possibly tonight......are there any suggestions?

A mention of Daytona 500......I talked to my mother today for her 99th birthday.....she had told me the race was postponed yesterday and was going to be today. My sister and brother stopped and got her fried chicken and the trimmings instead of taking her out to eat because of the traffic. She enjoys chicken. She turned 99 today.

Speaking of mothers....I am praying for your mother LFF. I am so happy that you can go visit her and bring her smiles. I don't like nursing homes so this is wonderful you can go see her.

And 2Anne I hear you are a grandma now? Do you have a picture of the baby? Congratulations!

The weather here is not to bad for February. Been raining a lot but at least it is not freezing rain!

LFF, the news with your mother sounds good. It sounds like
she is an easy person to get along with.
If ever I have to depend on others, I hope I'm not a royal pain.
I'm a person who likes doing everything for myself.

Glad, how blessed you are to still have your mother, and that
she is still mentally healthy.
I did have a really good friend in my mom in law. I miss her so much.

My day has been good. Early I cleaned a few more shelves in the bookcases.
There are three, tall ones, five shelves each, filled with books and other
collectibles. Everything needed dusting and glass objects needed washing.
I decided to read some of the books. Especially my books of poetry.
I think one more day will finish the cleaning. Then I can begin washing
curtains, getting at cobwebs, etc,

Thank you Glad and Joyous. My Mom is pretty easy to get along with. My Sister looked at 3 more assisted living facilities, I contacted the Ambucare that my Mom is a member at, and we're doing what we can.

Have to move my furniture today, as I'm paying our maintenance man clean our carpet, at least in the living room/office/bedroom, and our breakfast nook- mayce the hallway.I can't have him do Dawn's room, as that's where all the furniture has to go.

Dawn has the bedroom? Or does your's have two bedrooms?

Looks quite roomy.

I finished dusting, cleaning the bookcases and everything
on them. Now I must begin the shelves over each window
and one at each end of the living room, jusy below the
ceiling,
enough space fpr books standing upright. Most of the books, I cannot
part with. The collectibles? I hate to toss them. Hardly anyone collects
the old pottery these days. I have one small pitcher which was made
and signed about a hundred years ago. I have a letter telling the value
but time has passed and it may not be worth nearly as much now.

I began reading "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau. Remember he squatted on acres
of land in Massachusetts, built his abode, lived off the land two ears. Very interesting
life and attitude. I keep getting sleepy while reading.

Our apartment has one bedroom, with a full walk in closet.  Dawn has the bedroom.  Trust me.  The apartment is not 'roomy',  It's about 27 feet by 27 feet total area.
Take your antiques to an antique store.

Sometimes having a bigger space means more cleaning......if I moved to an apartment I would have to get rid of my junk and it is not antique believe me!
