Morning to one and all. Time to get myself stirring around. For those in the US, don't forget the nationwide emergency test today.

I'm back!  And I can really shake 'em down!
Have my computer back!

I have little to chat about. Searching my memory banks 
to see if there is anything of interest.
I had mentioned "The Rose Petal Murder" in Greenville, S.C.
I believe its 5 or 6 episodes, news folks discussing the murder case
and telling all they know. You tube I believe.
Sister of the murder victim has been approached by 20/20 regarding
a future program.

They say what was wrong?

Didn't talk to the guy who worked on it.  The guy I talked to said it was something to do with the operating system.  I don't think so.  I think it had something to do with the messing I did with the panel at the bottom of the screen.  Something simple, but when I tried to fix things, I really screwed things up.  Only cost me $35, so I'm not real worried about it.

No.  I'm sure I'll do it again!

I've done that before. I have a bootable Linux thumb drive available, and a full Time Shift done. Then I can step back to just before I goofed.

I'm glad you got it fixed, though.

That is good news! It's worth its weight in gold. I keep a copy of linux mx on hand to boot from If I mess something up while experimenting. . As long as the hard drive is working, and the computer will boot from the thumb drive, It;s all good.

Did an update this morning. Said I needed a reboot. Did that. Wouldn't reboot. Now it'll boot as far as my desktop screen' flashes that and then shows a blank screen with little blips like it's trying to start but won't. Always happens on a weekend!

Your computer sounds like mine LFF!  I keep it plugged in while using it and finally got the battery up to 47% much better than 33%.

Today is church day.  Visiting the church that bought the building my church was in.  I am not following the pastor.  The new owners will be in the building by Nov and it is just about 1/2 mile from my house.....that is one reason I don't want to leave.  Making sure it is a Bible believing church though.  It's name is Missionary Baptist and state they believe in the KJV Bible so that is great with me.

Do you have Linux on a thumb drive lightfootfan? If so, boot from that, launch Timeshift, and look on your machine for an older or recent Timeshift backup. Restore it.

Can't get online all day at work. Too little bandwidth during the day.

That's no fun. Make you a thumb drive and keep it handy.

Any computer than have a hiccup, or sometimes a new version of a driver doesn't play well. Linux is more resilient since it does it's updates to data mostly in real time. Windows tends to save changes you have worked on, and finish them at shutdown. That is why the shut down time can vary widely with Windows. During the "house cleaning" as the call it, there can be a spike in power that we don't even notice, or maybe just a bad spot in memory for some reason, it causes something to be corrupted.

It has been a beautiful fall day in Southeast Missouri.  The leaves are beginning to change color now.

Came home and went right to bed last night

Glad, I hope the church feeds your soul and is just what you desire for worship.
These times are when we really need spiritual closeness to our LORD. Always 
actually but there are frightening actions at every side today/my faith keeps me
fairly balanced, praise the LORD.

Good evening all. Glad you got your computer back LLF. John had to work on this laptop the other day. I couldn't get my cookies deleted and found out why. Not a big fan of windows 10 and still have a lot to learn ...

Computer is still in the shop. I have today off.

I am cooking a pot of blackeyed peas, fried potatoes, garden spinach with swiss chard and cornbread today.  Will start the peas soon.  I will ad ham cubes to the peas and there will be food left for tomorrow.

OH Glad, how I would enjoy being invited to that dinner. 
It has been years since I had Black eyed peas, I had corn bread
a good many times, but somehow it would just go SO good
with Black eyed peas. Your dinner sounds like New Year's Day dinner.

I had a burger King whopper

I prefer Glad;s Blackeyed peas.
I never eat beef.

I don't know if burger king's burger is beef.

I think they are all pretty much made up of soy, and other substitutes. The only way to get close to a real burger is probably somewhere they specialize in real burgers, and it may cost a pretty penny. I like Burger King over most of them.

Back from our morning church " Renew " group, and church afternoon " lunch club," soon off to our other church for monthly " mothers union " meeting, after 45 minutes indoors...Well it gets me out for a few hours..

Just four days left of holiday. Been great but very hot, over 100F some days. Have to pace yourself as everything an effort. Met up with friends here but they are gradually returning to the UK as they get older. Might go to the beach today. Have a good day everyone, enjoy!

Cooling off here. Temps in the 50 to 60F range for our highs. Leaving for work soon.

Getting started off here this morning. Animals fed, consumed two cups of coffee, watching the only 12% of rain failing lightly. Time to make more coffee.

High of 69F today, currently looking at 63F outside.

My heart is heavy this morning with what is taking place in the world.  Could we be in WW3 soon?  Pray for America and for Israel!

Agree Glad, the evil of Islam has put tentacles everywhere. They want to kill all non Muslims. What has happened in Israel is barbaric and totally unacceptable. They should not be allowed entry to Christian countries, bit late now. This situation could well turn into WW3.

I have the same fears.

The atrocities Hamas has committed against babies, children,
and adults is sickening. It amazes me that they so easily 
attacked Israel so fiercely. We were under the impression that
Israel had far better stronghold in place. May God have mercy 
on the innocents, the elderly, may God's perfect will be done.
The three females who hold high office in our Government are
unfit to serve in our country.
We know that many of the illegals who easily cross our border
are our enemy. My concern is for my children and grandchildren.

"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the 
power and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen."

And may Thy will be done.

I have a cyber American forum admin ( elderly - disabled - wheelchair ) who lives in Israel who is frightened as planes go back and forwards overhead...I have PM'd my prayers to her for her safety, i received her response..I believe her daughter is with her who has just had a newborn baby...

I think we are all praying for Israel and the Jewish  peoples, May God be with them. The time has come for the West to make war on Islam. It’s no good burying our heads in the sand any longer. The gloating of Muslims over the atrocities is nauseating.
They think they are untouchable.

I’m sure he would have seen it as Christ and God against satan and his demons Glad.

Some of my sons remind me that the Palestinians were booted out of their
homes when the Jewish people came to Israel, that they want what was 
theirs. I intend to refresh my memory regarding what took place there

Yesterday went to my regular doctor and had 2 shots, one for the flu and the other for pneumoria. Thank blood work for my A1C and cholesterol. This was my 6 month check up and won't see my doctor again till February of 2024. I got a prescription for my neuropathy for both my feet. On Thursday I went to my Gastroenterology to update my 2 medicine I take once a day. Had a colonoscopy last year in April and doing well. Gotta go to my foot doctor next week and get my toe nails clipped again.

So Islam has been pretty much a blight on the world, for millennia.

Being made aware of the past 100 years history, have they never heard of the saying " let bygones be bygones " why bring up the past, and take revenge for the past, and why now? Why make a future generation suffer for it? No one can make sense of it..
