The LORD bless both of you, LFF and Glad, oh and Harold.

The humidity seems to have lifted a bit
Today so far I have watered a bit of tomatoes and kale/
Went to ALDI, bought wet-wipes / Baby-wipes.
They come in handy instead of grabbing a washcloth.
Glad, the quake was in Sparta, N/C.
It was felt as a tremor in parts of S.C. In the upper part of the state.

I have collected and mailed one petition to reduce the Lock-down
power of the Gov. I have two signers on my second one and will
get at least three more this evening. I'm strongly considering getting
the petitions for Recalling Whitmer. We simply cannot expect President Trump
to carry this entire load alone. It is amazing what he is doing under such pressure.

I went back and re-read this thread......I for one find it somewhat confusing and I am sure I am one that confused it. I will try to keep up with on a daily basis instead of a post here and there. The one I quoted of LFF was about the mouse I am using and it does have a red light.

Mice are cheap, Glad.
Now as far as my daily activity goes, I had the mistaken idea, years ago, that retirement would meanrelaxing on a porch swing, listening to the birds sing...
Well, that ain't happening! We did get to go out for breakfast. I bought breakfast for 3 strangers, gave our waitress a $10 tip, and gave $15 to the lady who busses the tables. I won't be able to do that when Dawn moves out.

Today, we'll be taking Chipper downtown for a walk, stop by the bank for statements for Dawn (who doesn't save her statements), and bring donations to the Salvation Army Store.

Yes, LFF I am surprised. It's beyond my imagination,
the sex trafficking and abuse of children, especially
among people high up in our Government, naive,
I reckon.

Glad, my gardens are just coming in good. I picked

they will grow another batch, if we get rain. The
Bell peppers are disappointing. I hope the produce
farms around here have good ones for freezing.
We hope to stock up on everything we need. Who
knows what will happen next in this country.

Has the humidity been terrible in your area? This
seems the worst I recall. Or else my age makes me more
sensitive to the effects of high humidity.

LFF, you're a blessing to food handlers. Bless you.

My housemate walks 6 miles most days. A couple of days ago,

Listened to a little of Biden's speech this morning. He sounds good, but I'm afraid of the democratic party that will be calling the shots.
I take Dawn there for a treatment once a week. It's about 143 miles one way. Takes a little over 2 hours to get there. Saw 7 State Police cars on the way there- 6 of them had people pulled over.

We stop at Big Boy's in Wayland on the way home. Gave the waitress a $20 tip today. She asked "Really?"

Our bill was 25.72. I called the hostess over. Asked if I could pay her. When she said yes, I gave her $40, and told her "You keep the change." She was astonished. I said "You probably don't get tips." She told me she hasn't gotten a tip in years. She's been hostessing for 15 years.

The, after she paid the bill, she came back, said she was emotional, and asked "Did you really mean to give me $14?" Told her "Yes. I did. You deserve it."
The lady in a front apartment on our floor too her little Pomeranian outside here, and it was attacked by someone else's German Shepherd. Her little Pom had to be put down. People here at the apartments signed a card for her, I printed the story about the Rainbow Bridge and added that to the card. Dawn and I went to the store, and bought her a dozen pink roses. Dawn put them in one of her vases, and put that with the card by her door.

Our neighbor, who lives down the hall took her little Pomeranian ( 14 year old, with a heart problem) outside, and it was attacked by a German Shepherd with an anti-social problem. She had to put the Pom down. We bought her roses, and left them by her door. She came over to thank us last night. She was crying, and was distraught at what to do. Vinnie was her life- took him everywhere- even to work every day. I clumsily gave her a hug, asking if I could first. Chipper is 14, and I know how hard it will be when I lose him.

Next, I don't know about the owners of the German Shepherd. I don't know who owns it, if it was on a leash. Dawn told me she's seen a child taking the dog out to the 'pet walk area'. I don't know if Vinnie barked at the Shepherd, like he did at Chipper.
Next, What are 'Charity tomatoes'? Are they anything like 'Roma tomatoes'?
I'm very happy to be 'generous'. However, if Dawn moves out, my generosity will probably come to an end. I won't have the extra funds. Well, it was fund while it lasted.

Charity tomatoes:
When we put our various gardens in I told
my mate, "I'm putting a section of tomato plants
to share with the other people in our trailer park."
And I do. We cleared the creek bank and our yard
is larger than most others here. Therefore, we're
able to grow more food. We have plenty for our
own use. The way you share with tips and meals
for less fortunate, I share lettuce and tomatoes.

This morning I went with my daughter to take their
Chihuahua to a Vet. I visited Little Chuckie.
He didn't want to stay out as long as usual. I think
the heat and humidity bothers him too.
I didn't do much else, too hot and humid.

In this heat, you may need to take it easy a bit more, maybe?

I think it's ok. I just whine about having to log in, but it'really isn't a problem.

But you shouldn't have to log in every time, if you have the box checked to log you in automatically. Do you use FireFox?

Took Chipper out at 4:30 this morning. Have no other plans yet today. A nap sounds good....

August 26 today! Dawn asked me to take her to Emerald Park yesterday to check on her application status. She received approval. The move-in date to her new apartment is September 11. That means I'll have to buckle down, and start pinching my pennies.
I hope I'll get to take Chipper for a walk today. Dawn will be going out for lunch with a friend. Have nothing else planned. Have a good day all!
