I’m glad you get thanked for what you do for friends LFF, you seem to be a great help. I suppose if Michelle has seizures she can’t drive?
We met friends for a meal out last night. It was very busy and the food was good, I drank a pint of cider and it was excellent. Made me feel a bit heady though.

Quite correct- Michelle doesn't drive.  She woke me at 5, with a text asking me to download a google app called 'Cash App'.  From what I understand, after looking it up, one might make money by getting others to sign up, it's a financial app that uses a paypal account to send or receive money.  I don't like what I've read about it, don't like paypal, don't want to give this place any of my financial information, Michelle owes me $160 for a loan from me already, which she says she can't pay till next month, and I can feel my blood pressure rising right now!

I had a big falling out with my sister when I lent her money, it’s a friendship spoiler. The financial thing sounds like a scam so you right not to get involved. I hope you get your $160 back.

LFF, where are you? 4:37 P.M.

Quite the storm last evening, then again 
during the night. Lots of debris in our Trailer Park.
One part of a tree fell on a neighbor's porch and trailer roof.
Doesn't appear to have caused damage, but not sure.
We picked up twigs, small branches, gobs of tree bark.
My beautiful, 9 foot Sunflower tipped partially over,
pulling it's cage. I hammered a steel rod in, tied the
flower to it. Looks okay.
Washed my outerwear, took gr.daughter to her job, 
filled the tank of my car, visited Little Chuckie.
I'm tired.
P.S. I forgot about going to the bank. When I said, 
"This is a stickup.", the teller laughed so hard, I
said, "May I have some cash?"
(My less than amusing joke for today)

Take one of these into the bank with you: I was here at 7:00 this morning. 
Got to stay home today, except for taking Chipper downtown.

I took Chipper to Otsego this morning at 6:45.  Walked him at Brookside park at the South end of Otsego, then took him along the river at the other end of Otsego. ( Didn't see Michelle at all yesterday.  Told her I didn't feel well.)  Texted her from the park to see if she wanted to join me at a restaurant there.  She wasn't even up yet,  but she talked me into taking her to Battle Creek  to get a portable a/c unit from her Sister this afternoon.  I said that way I can talk with her rather than text.  She asked what we had to talk about.  I replied 'us'.  She immediately texted back that she'd TOLD me she liked being single, and didn't want a relationship.  I asked her "who said anything about a relationship?  I like our friendship."  She texted back "Oh silly me!   I just thought when you said we could talk about 'us'...."  So we're cool now.  I'll tell her later I see nothing wrong with a little hug between friends.

After morning coffee, I went to a nearby Henry Ford
clinic to have blood drawn. I was required to don a mask.
Upon telling the Assistant it was difficult to breathe, she
said, "I know, me too."
I was in and out in a flash, didn't hurt either.
I stopped at ALDI for a few things, wet wipes for one thing.
I buy the three pack of Baby wipes. They're so convenient
for keeping in the car and the bathroom.
Back home, lunch, then out to Ray's tomato patch to pick
the ripe tomatoes. He has them SO close, his feet would
smash the vines. Therefore I do the picking. Looking down
I spied a small, plastic, orange object. I could not believe
I found the cover for my little snippers which I lost a few
years ago, figuring I would never see it again. Ray had
made a little sponge cover for the snippers. 
I will soon visit the wee doggie. Nobody working today.

Took Michelle to Battle Creek.  Got there and Michelle's Sister said the price was $75, rather than the $30 Michelle's Sister had quoted.  I didn't have an extra $45, so we turned around and headed back to Plainwell.  I was cool as a cucumber, but Michelle was HOT.  She just wanted to go home and cry.  I kept calmly talking to her.  Finally talked her into allowing me to get Arby's for her for lunch.  Seemed to calm her down a bit.  Got something for me too, but she asked for another bag, so she could separate the orders and send mine home with me.  She apologized about not being able to get the a/c unit, as she got out of the car.  Said she'd text me later.

People don't seem to realize that getting things right makes life easier

She reiterated to me that she didn't want a relationship.  Now I'm not sure what I told her, and what I thought about telling her, but she seemed okay with whatever I said.  I know the word 'Friendship' was often included in the conversation.

Good morning all!  Got 5 hours of shut-eye last night, or should I say, this morning.  Today should be a nice day, weather-wise, here.  I hope it is in other aspects as well.  Dawn should be coming over this afternoon.  At least that's the plan...

LFF is a friend to all. But then Glad, I suspect that you
are a very good friend too. I count both of you as friends.
I wish we could meet in person.

We learned that onions can be set out in Fall just as garlic is. 
We went to a few stores searching for onion sets. None to be had.

I walked around our trailer park, got the mail which included the
water/trash pickup bill. $26.10 . Not bad for a month, aye?

Lovely day, for which I'm thankful after the extreme heat and
humidity.

Thank you, Joyous.  You and Glad are very dear to me.  I've found that being a friend feels a lot better than being an enemy, or even being indifferent.

Had a quiet day. Really missing a good friend who has moved a long way away. We used to meet at least once a week and my other friends work even though they are in their seventies. Friends are so important as we found during lockdown. Have a nice day everyone.

My children and gr.children and my house-mate keep me busy.
I do have one special friend, the one I Cat-sat for. She has retired 
after nearly 40 years at Cadillac Motor Co. She stays quite busy 
doing short trips, usually one day. 
I have grown close to my internet friends. Sadly several have left 
this world and I miss them very much. Thankfully SATW has stayed 
with me. 
I just came back from spending time with Little Chuckie. It's getting
hot again and the air conditioning feels great.

Hi 2Anne and Joyous!  I'm happy to call you friends.  Took Chipper for a 43 minute walk this morning, with no rest breaks.  Chipper didn't eat last night, nor this morning.  Was happy to see him eat this afternoon!

Maybe the heat has put Chipper off his food LFF?
Yes I regard Joyous, Becci and LFF as friends but know we will probably never meet. I do see friends for meals out but Linda was a neighbour and I could just pop round. The new people in her house seem very private.

The weather is cooler today, and Chipper did eat this afternoon, so let's hope that was it, 2Anne.  Thanks!

August 15 today, my Dad's birthday.  He would have been 97 now.  He was tired, when he died at 92.  My Mom's 94, and she said she's not tired of living yet- just tired of fighting the Leukemia, Kidney Disease, and  Clostridioides infection.
Anway, After I take Dawn home today, I plan on going out to my Mom's for my weekly visit.  Have no other plans today yet.

I hope Chipper is back on his food LFF. Your mum is doing well at 94 and it’s nice you can visit her.
My mother died about five years ago aged 88, Rob’s mum is in a local care home and is 100. She is very frail and has to be moved with a hoist and fed by a carer. She is not in good shape. Had a quiet day but will go for a walk around town later.

This is one of those days when I feel like I'm running around
circles. Did a load of wash, picked beans which we gave to a 
neighbor. We have enough put away and will share. Did some 
weeding. Maggie to her job. Visited the wee doggie. Will now
take Jimmy to his job. Later pick them up. I will stop in Kroger 
for treats for doggie, maybe.
2Anne I honestly pray I leave this life before having to be
unable to care for myself. I was a Home Health Caregiver and
know whatt it's like. (Please GOD)

I agree with you Joyous to be totally helpless either through frailty or dementia is daunting.
My mother in law is tough and is 101 in November but being in bed all the time is not healthy. It would be a blessing if the Lord took her as her quality of life is so poor.

Sorry to hear of your Mother's condition, 2Anne.  You're being realistic though.  My Sister and I are also.  Visited our Mom yesterday, and she spends most of the day in her power recliner.  She doesn't leave the house anymore, and doesn't want any visitors, other than my Sister, me, her nurse, and her house cleaner.
Today, I'm going to go look at an upright freezer.

Freezers are now very pricey in the UK. We have an American style fridge freezer that produces ice and chilled water,hope you got a good deal LFF.

Freezers have got very pricey in the UK so hope you had a good deal LFF. It’s a nuisance being tied in for a delivery but hopefully you won’t have to wait too long.
We had a new fridge/ freezer when we had a bew kitchen about seven years ago. It had to be plumbed into the water as it makes ice and chilled water.
Had a quiet day, saw podiatrist this morning, takes her quarter of an hour to do both feet, the fee is for half an hour!

What else does she do to feet?
I used to take a lady I worked for to a male
Podiatrist. Also took my Mom in law to him.
He is very handsome and we chatted about politics. etc.
My favorite place to take my employer ! 

Yes, 2Anne, I am rather active in Spring and Summer, not
so much in Winter. We grow a large garden and just now
my daughter's car isn't running, so like it or not, I take two
Grands to their jobs. As long as I'm able, I like being active.

The freezer is a 5.8 cubic foot Magic Chef:
Big enough for me.
I see my podiatrist next Monday.  He trims my nails, checks over my feet, files down caluses, gives advice, even gave me some Betadine to treat a fungus.  AND he laughs at my jokes!
I'll probably be doing some snow shoveling this winter.

We've had 2 maintenance men, who have quit.  Now I understand they're going to expect our new office manager to clear snow too, besides cleaning the buildings.  She's 5 feet tall, and about 130 lbs.  I won't let that happen.  We have the driveway and parking lot plowed, but that doesn't cover the walks, stoops, or path around the back.

The podiatrist cuts my nails,uses a scalpel to trim a corn on my right foot and buffers the hard skin. She works very fast and is good at what she does. My old podiatrist retired and he was excellent so I’ve missed him but this current one Theresa is fine.
That freezer sounds excellent LFF and what a good price! You have a bargain there.

The freezer is 60 inches (152 cm), 21.6 inches (55 cm) wide, and 22.8 inches (58 cm) deep.  It freezes ice cubes in under 3 hours (put the tray in at 3:15, checked at 6:00), keeps ice cream nice and hard.  I'm pleased with it.
Today, I'll take Chipper for a walk, come home, shower and get cleaned up.  Then pick up Michelle at 10:30 for breakfast out.

Freezer just the right size for you LFF. Hope you enjoy breakfast out today and enjoy the company.
I had an eighty minute swim today but it’s quite cold here and the water was 87 F so doable. The temp here is 63 F with a cool wind. Very poor for august. Will go for a walk after six and a siesta at 2.30 pm today.

I went to Kroger. weeded a lot, and soon off to take grands to work.

Well, Joyous, I sure hope they appreciate your taking them to work.  There's no one else to help them?
I took Chipper for a walk, came home, showered, drove to Plainwell, took Michelle to the bank, to breakfast (where I had a 5 egg cheese and onion omelet, with a pancake), to my place to see my new freezer, and back to Plainwell.  Came back to Allegan, and bought 14 pounds of burger patties from Shaendorf Cattle Company- gave 2 pounds (6 burgers) to Travis and Angela, upstairs.

Chipper pawed at me to take him outside at 3:15 a.m.  Took him outside, sat outside with him for a while, came back in, and stayed up, as I'll be leaving at about 9 to take Michelle to an appointment.  Maybe I can talk her into making breakfast for me....

Joyous I’m sure you would like my podiatrist. She just gets on with the job.
Quiet day, had a swim for 75 minutes. Husband out golfing but he returned as I was leaving the pool. He’s eating out tonight so he just had a snack at lunch. I will go for a walk after six and meet the dog walkers. We are out for lunch tomorrow.
3.15 am is a very early start LFF!

LFF, no there is nobody until someone knows how to fix a 1984 Ford.
She has tried three different mechanics/Auto shops. One man did 
do her brakes, which cost a small fortune, but brakes are important.
My first born is an ace mechanic, or was when he hadn't become a 
recluse. Her ex knows old cars as well, but he lives in Florida.
I told her they have until winter. Then I cannot be depended on 
because I do NOT drive on ice nor snow. The kids sometimes walk 
home but as long as I can, I will be there for them. They're good
people.
I weeded again this morning. I thought I am almost finished.
Then I remembered, the spaghetti squash patch! The Black Krim
tomato patch. Aye Yi Yi ! We simply created too much garden, but
sharing our abundance makes neighbors happy. 
I will now rest awhile. A nice shower and lunch and visiting with
fellow Shouters is restful.
I did chat with my little sister. A cousin died. He had been in a 
Veterans Hospital for quite a long time. 
2Anne, does your husband have friends he eats with? A men's group?
Do the two of you just have differing tastes? I'm not being nosy, just
interested in how others live. Ray and I rarely eat out, but he does visit 
his family and I visit mine. We are House-mates. I suppose it's
different for married people. For some people too much togetherness
becomes dull. For some couples their interests are in different areas.

Today, I picked up Michelle a little after 9, took her to dollar tree for stuff, to the Plainwell Hospital for a mammogram, which turned out good (during which Sheri called at 9:40 and asked where I was.  I told her I'd taken Michelle to an appointment, and she asked "Who's Michelle?"  I told her a friend of Dawn's.  Asked her what she needed, and she said she'd just talk to me later), then I took Michelle  to Plainwell florist for stuff,  Then, we went to breakfast at the Barb Wire Cafe.  When I got home, at 11:30, I tried calling Sheri, because her car was still home- got no answer.  Left a message saying I was home.  Hung around for an hour, her car is still here, so I called again- no answer, so I'm going to take Chipper downtown for a walk.
