From Livescience.com, Despite its name, decaf isn't quite caffeine-free.
The process of decaffeination, it turns out, cannot remove caffeine completely. In fact, if you drink five to 10 cups of decaffeinated coffee, you could get as much caffeine as from drinking one or two cups of caffeinated coffee, according to researchers who tested the caffeine levels in several decaf coffee.  Decaffeinated coffee does, however contain a little more caffeine than hot chocolate.
Little cooler here today.  Don't know what I'll do today.

Guess what? 
Received an email today from my Mom's respite home.  Said "Today, one of our resident’s tested positive for Covid-19. The resident lives in our main building. The resident is quarantining in her apartment and is overall doing well with mild symptoms. I do believe that at this time, the exposure to other residents is quite low. We have completed contract tracing, and are working on testing those who qualify for a test based on exposure. So far, all of those tests have been negative.

 
At this time, we are still open to visitors. Our dining rooms will remain open, and our activities will still run as normal. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions"

Jackie, I tried Decaf. It just doesn't do it for me.
At 86 I figure enjoying my two cups per day can
do me little harm and it does keep me awake. 

Today I visited my doggie friend/granddoggie.
Not much else. I have days like that when I do
very little. The cold months are my Down-time.
When Spring comes, I will be in the garden,
placing seeds in nice rows, anticipating beans.
onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, kale,
whatever seeds I have.
LFF, if your mom hasn't been exposed and it seems
sensible with you and your sister, then I like the way 
these people think. It pretty much goes along with 
common sense.

My Sister and I agree.

Been out of pocket this week so much on my mine.  Will come and spend some time with all of you tomorrow.

Doesn't do any good to be in my pockets here, as my pockets are pretty empty.
Eating some oatmeal here, and I may walk Chipper in the snow here today, but have no other plans.

Same here, but look nowadays.  Kids have smart phones in first grade!

LOL Out of pocket for me meant I was either to tired, to lazy, or just to busy (this time of year many are) to write many posts and I sincerely apologize to all of you.   I will try to do better.

Actually I am a bit depressed still thinking and praying for all those storm victims.  Seems as though more came about earlier this week also.  I do believe God is trying to get our attention.  Some not only lost loved ones but homes as well.  And lets not forget the fur babies that are left homeless......countless have been lost and some have no where to go.

Continue to pray for my niece.....my sister's daughter who had the stroke back in July.  It looks grim for her......she has had two major operations to try to fix the leakage to her brain.....they say no more can be done.....she is in God's hands

I cannot understand what happened to my post
just before or after yours, LFF. I cannot ever repeat a post.
I know it contained questions about your mom.
How can a post just disappear?

We have gremlins in the forum.  No.  Seriously, you could have switched to another site before the post went through.  Our computers, as well as our ISP's can encounter glitches which interrupt a signal.  Then the post gets lost in cyberspace.

Got a text this morning at 2 a.m. from my Sister.  They sent my Mom to the hospital after a fall, confusion, and inability to walk.  Just waiting to hear .  No other plans today, as that sort of puts things on hold.

Sorry to hear that, lightfootfan. I hope she gets to feeling better, that had to be a pretty bad fall. 

Prayers to all who are in need of them. It's cooler here this morning, at 54F and a little breeze.

Indeed falls for elderly people are worse, usually, than for younger folks.
I find that I seem to be less surefooted this past year. Therefore I do
watch my steps.

Mornin' all!  At the hospital, my  Mom tested Positive for Covid, and I received an email from her care facility, saying that a resident and an employee test positive.  I'm confident in their protocols.  I'll call the hospital later and see if I ban visit my Mom today.  Will have to get tested later this week.

All the best, lightfootfan. It's 41F this morning. Starting to get light outside, so I'll get my cup of coffee and sit outside for a cup. 

I remember Christmas in the early 60s, we got a bike once upon a time, and clothes. We really appreciated them. I watch kids these days, go through so many presents, that they forget what they opened 2 minutes before. Nothing is special anymore for them. There is something to be said, for wanting and waiting for something you REALLY want. 

We bought for the grands earlier this year, once small toy each. I think it should be a time for families to get together, not to give so many gifts that are so extravagant. Sigh' but that is today's world.

Thanks everyone for liking the Christmas theme.....I am thankful the forumotion site gives us lots of themes to choose from and simple to do.....and of course you can make some adjustments......like this one had a smaller font and blue color.....which black font works better for us here.

My Mom has had her 2 shots and the booster.  She has no symptoms, just tested positive.  I called the hospital.  Was told by her nurse that she has covid and 'sundowner', where a patient becomes confused and such after 'sundown'.  I asked if they had checked her for a UTI, as that was what she had when she had such confusion before.  Nurse said she didn't think so, but would mention it to the doctor.
Also, my Mom is only allowed one visitor during her stay there at the hospital.  I said that should be my Sister, as she is the one on her list , and on her accounts, makes medical decisions for my Mom, and whose voice my Mom can understand.

Thank you Jackie.  I don't know what variant it is.  My Sister is going to a test site in Holland to get tested tomorrow, and I'm going to one here in Allegan on Wednesday.

Hopefully your mom will not be as sick as some who have not been vaccinated.  I am glad she had the shots.

Glad, I thought I had thanked you for the beautiful
Christmas theme. I must be slipping.
LFF, my prayer is that Mom doesn't suffer and is in
good condition again soon.

It seems this is the year of, What next? You all know
all that has happened already in my family. Saturday evening
a Tennessee nephew, his wife and their gr.son, between 
1 and 2 years old, were headed home in their 150 FORD pickup.
Two young guys in a car seemed to lose control, over corrected, 
and smashed head on into their pickup. Lee and Vicky sustained
some injuries, little gr.son only bruising. The two young guys were 
both killed.
The parents of the car driver were on the scene quickly and said
their son had left telling them he was going to commit suicide.
My nephew can deal with his injuries, but is emotionally torn
regarding the two young guys.
Aside from visiting Little Chuckie, I won't even comment on the
remainder of this day, nothing bad, just enough already.

Tomorrow will be better, Joyous.

The niece whose daughter was murdered told me
that she no longer says, "It can't get any worse,"
Her remaining daughter is fighting for custody of
the 9 year old daughter of the murdered sister.
She asked that anyone who is close to GOD to
please pray that Tina be granted custody.
Before any of this happened, I thought what a
good mom Tina would be.

Morning everyone, I hope things get better for all. It sounds like a really rough Christmas season. I am staying home today, just taking it easy. Michelle has a doctor's appointment around mid-morning, but other than that, nothing on the agenda.

Mornin' all!  Have no big plans for today.  Will take a picture of the day with an instant camera, and will see what develops.

Have no big plans today, other than to take Sheri to Kalamazoo shopping.  She called last night to ask if I'd take her.

Good morning, chilly here this morning at 37F. Of course, that's warm for a lot of folks. No rain and no wind, so that is a good thing as well. No plans for today, just taking it as it comes.
