DAILY CHAT 2021

Have no big plans today, other than to take Sheri to Kalamazoo shopping.  She called last night to ask if I'd take her.

Good morning, chilly here this morning at 37F. Of course, that's warm for a lot of folks. No rain and no wind, so that is a good thing as well. No plans for today, just taking it as it comes.

I baked the oatmeal fudge cars. Very tiring due to all
the stirring required. I may have left them in the oven
a bit too long.
 "Warning!!! if you break a tooth while eating oatmeal
fudge bar, I will not be held responsible."
My family may just tell me, 
"You shouldn't be required to bake cookies at your age!"

Also went shopping for a winter parka. None I liked.
Visited Little Chuckie!

Sheri still not feeling well, so she asked me to drive to Saugatuck, and get her check for her.  Of course I did!  Tomorrow morning, she wants me to take her to a doctor's appointment in Kalamazoo. 
Had a covid test today.  It was negative.  My Mom is being moved to the covid section of rehab.

I was lazy, all day yesterday. I may do the same today, I seem to be real good at it. Michelle backed cookies all day. We're going to son's house Friday for finger foods and visit.

I don't remember what I did yesterday.  Today, I'm supposed to be taking Cheri to be taking Sheri to a doctor's appointment.

WindWalker, that sounds like the person I'm becoming,
too good at relaxing.

LFF, I'm a bit confused. Cheri takes Sheri ?

This day I washed our outerwear, shopped for fruit for Christmas day.
I visited Little Chuckie. LOL When I tried to wipe something from his
eye, he did a low growl, not angrily, just as if to say,
 "I really wish Grama would stop fussing over me."

When I typed ' Today, I'm supposed to be taking Cheri to be taking Sheri to a doctor's appointment.',  guess I was tired or something.  I meant to say 'I'm supposed to be taking Sheri to an appointment.'  And I did today.  Then, I took her to Meijer's in Ostemo, where she bought a bunch of stuff (that she paid for, I might add), while I found a parking spot way out in the parking lot somewhere, then came inside and sat on a bench, waiting for her.  Following that, we went to the Texas Corral, where I had catfish Fillet and steak fries (Her treat).  Then I drove Sheri back to walmart in Plainwell to pick up the steroid and cough suppressant the doctor called in today.  There was such a line at the pharmacy, and Sheri was so tired, I told her I'd take her home, and drive back to pick up the prescriptions, which I did.

Have daughter and family over tomorrow and toddlers presents under the tree.

About to put the Christmas ham in the oven.....the rolls are rising too.

Need to make the slaw and ice tea and most of the meal is under control.

Warmed up pizza for breakfast.  Probably won't eat again till supper.  I plan on visiting my Sister this afternoon.

Well, we survived Christmas, now a coast down to New Years, up that hill, and start down the other side. Remains to be seen, what that ride will be like. But I'm just glad I'm here for it!

Had a lovely day with family yesterday. Been clearing wreckage from toddler. One broken ornament being glued so not too bad!. We had a lot of fun and Oscar had us racing with him in the hall, exhausting. He played with his gifts and liked the musical mat which he danced on. Altogether it was great.
Spoke to sister who is on her own this Christmas and seems she’s enjoyed herself, she’s not well and has kidney failure, soon to go on dialysis from the sound of it.
Hope Shouters enjoyed the holiday. Here it’s Monday and Tuesday off work.

2Anne your Christmas sounds like a child's Christmas.
For so many years, that's how I thought of Christmas.
I hope your sister can avoid dialysis, but if that helps,
then bless her.
Windwalker, I mostly agree that I'm glad if I welcome 
the New Year. However it does become easier to accept
that this life will end for me one day. From 7 siblings I
now have 2 and fewer people I have known almost all
my life. As God wills and I know my children and 
grandchildren will miss me. Still my world has changed 
SO much. It seems I'm in an alien country.

Sheri called and said she liked that piece of my catfish I gave her the other day, so she asked if she ordered some from the restaurant we went to in Kalamazoo, would I drive her down there?  She'd buy my dinner too.  What could I say?  Drove her to Kalamazoo to pick it up, and brought her back.  And no.  She didn't invite me up to eat at her apartment.

Not understanding your post LFF......did you drive a distance to pick up a friend and bought lunch and she did not eat with you?

That's right, Glad.  I drove her to Kalamazoo to pick up a catfish dinner for me, a catfish dinner for her, and an order of something else for her son (She called the order for her son as an afterthought on our way there.).  Sheri paid for all this.
Then, I drove back into Allegan so she could drop her son's order off at his house.  When we got back to our apartment complex, she separated our styrafoam containers, told me to have a good day, and she took hers up to her apartment.  After I parked the car better, I took mine downstairs to my apartment.  She didn't invite me up, so I wasn't about to invite myself up.

Good evening all. It's 43 here  and light rain. Both my son's were over here yesterday for Christmas dinner. John got me a nice kitchen table with 4 chairs and a bench. I love it. I will enclose a picture of it here.

That is a nice set, Margie. You'll enjoy those. I have no plans for today. A nice, quiet Monday will be nice. I might gather some leaves by raking them, and then burn them in the fire pit, other than that, I am all caught up around the house.

Mornin' Windwalker and all!  Yesterday, Sheri had talked about my taking her to Holland and Saugatuck today, but we'll see.  She won't be up for a few hours yet.  Took Chipper out in the freezing rain this morning.

Margie, it is nice to have new household items.

Today I took pizza and a salad to the home of a family I have
known many years. The church I attended for years got a Food
Train together for them because their wife/mom recently lost 
the battle with cancer. I hadn't seen them for a long time. 
The grief of the husband was SO ? I cannot find a fitting word.
The adult children are hurt but handling it. I could see that the
husband is barely holding himself together. Such deep pain 
is like a gut punch.

Went to Plainwell this morning to get some Meijer 'Reindeer Bait' trail mix that Sheri wanted.  We were going to go to Holland today for some, but that wasn't necessary, so we were just going to go to Saugatuck,  but she opted out of that and decided to order cat food to be delivered there.  (She feeds the kitties behind her store.) One of the store employees who lives nearby will feed them.  Sheri wanted to order supper that I would pick up, but after finding out the restaurant is not open on Monday, she opted out of that too.  I told her I'll treat her to lunch out tomorrow.  Haven't heard back from her.

Sounds like you were busy, fella. I have no plans for today. It may get rainy here later. It's 63F outside so that is really warm for 6am. I hope everyone, has a great day today.

Good Tuesday morning.   Rain moving in.  This time of the year that is good news for it could be icy rain.

I have to get out to pick up insulin at the pharmacy other than that nothing else planned.

We were going to visit mother in law in residential home but the manager rang up and said not to come as they are in lockdown over sickness bug. Sounds like Norovirus. Thought to be closed for three to four days and have to phone to check before we go.
So far government has imposed no new restrictions for omicron, let’s hope it lasts.
Friends have cancelled New Years Eve so we will be home, visiting daughter on Thursday to catch up with family.

Sounds like a good plan, 2Anne!  I'll be taking Michelle in to volunteer New Year's Eve  morning, taking her home at noon, so I'll be home New Year's Eve night.

I think I will be home New Year's eve. Medication denies
me the pleasure of alcohol. I joke about the pleasure as
the only drinking I would do would be Killian's Red beer,
which I have posted before is in honor of my deceased
mom in law. I miss her so much. Even though I divorced
her son, she chose to spend St. Patrick's Day with me and
my house-mate. We always had Killian's Red beer.
I miss her so very much.

As an after thought, I did visit my little dog. 
He was very compatible today. Whatever Grama
wanted to do was okay with him.

Glad, since the real President was denied the Oval
office, has your insulin gone back up in cost?
The Eliquis I take is a lot more than I could pay 
without Blue Cross.

Sheri and I went to Texas Corral again today for Catfish again- my treat this time, but she drove.  I'm glad she did because the snow started on the way there, and we had a couple of inches when we started home.  Roads were pretty slick.
Sheri took the back roads home, and showed me where her parents live.  We talked a lot through dinner and the drive home, and we really have a lot in common.

Good morning everyone. Seems we have the rough weather this morning, for a little while. I think the bad stuff, has stayed to the west of u, for now.

No plans for today, get my coffee and go outside and watch the rain. 68F right now, at 6:30 am

Have no plans here today.  May try some bursitis exercises after a nap.

LFF, that sounds like a possible, good friend relationship.
Are you reluctant to drive in snow? I stopped driving in 
snow a few years back. Thats why I don't go to church
any more.

Yes.  Reluctant would be a good term for it.

Mornin' all!  I won't be here much today.  My Sister and I are going to move all my Mom's stuff from the respite home as they're not equipped to handle her anymore.  She was moved to the covid section of Rehab.  This morning, she was transferred to the hospital with severe pneumonia, and oxygen level at 78%.  Then hopefully, I'll get out of there in time to go to Kalamazoo with Sheri.

No plans for today. I even slept in. It's been raining during the night, a little.

Sure glad the storms weren't close to you last night Windwalker!
