DAILY CHAT 2021

Planning on heading out to my Mom's today.  Then will pick up Dawn.  Nothing more on the agenda here.

I know the original plan was to put the pipeline through a Native reservation.
There was a lot of protesting there. I'm against taking or destroying anything 
that was promised to the Native Americans. Also, what are we willing to give
up? If it means less automobiles on the road?

I just listened to a part of a conversation that took place at the DAVOS meeting.
If I can pull it up, I will post it here. Short and extremely informing.

Good evening all. I see where Biden has done a lot of damage to our country in the first week of office. This man is someone else puppet . Who know who is really giving the orders now ?

They said the same thing about President Trump.  Any administration wants to get stuff done in the first 100 days, so they can sit back and watch the movie roll.

I hope for a quiet day today.  Have to call and ask questions about the vaccine I've scheduled for tomorrow.

Our area got only a little snow.

I scrubbed the kitchen floor yesterday.
Also washed my outerwear and I can spend today 
playing games, etc.
On FB, there is a group called "Pickens County", maybe more,
like "Memories of Pickens County". 
That's the County where I grew up so it's like a trip down 
memory lane for me. Oh so many changes. But so has Detroit,
the big city where I grew up mentally and socially. Everything 
changes.

Yep.  That's where I got poked.  Roads were a little nasty, but not like predicted.  I got to the vaccination site.  Had to register again.  When asked for the social security number of my first born, I checked N.A., because I don't have any kids.
 
Okay.  I'm kidding about their wanting the information on my first born.  Went quite well.  Took about 20 minutes, after which I had to wait 15 minutes to see if I had any adverse reactions.  At 14 minutes, I started flailing my arms and screaming "Get me out!  Get me out of here!"  Then 2 National Guardsmen grabbed me and dragged me to another room. 
Okay.  I'm kidding about that too.  At 15 minutes, I headed back to my car.  Then drove home.  Now I'm sitting here waiting for my laundry to get done.

I'm glad you're home safe.

Each of us must be free to decide for ourselves about  
such things as COVID vaccine and any medical attention.
My brother Tommy has been sick at home and finally in hospital.
Diagnosis" Pneumonia and COVID.   So thankful he has survived.
He told me he didn't think he would make it.

Sending prayer Tommy's way too.

Today, I plan on taking my Mom to her doctor's appointment.  I was awake at 4 this morning.  Just woke from a little nap.

February I have about 4 appointments to go to.  Two next week.

Things went well at my Mom's appointment.  She didn't have the $45 co-pay, so I paid it for her.  My Sister will get it back to me.  She forgot to give my Mom her debit card. (Kathy holds on to the card)
I have 2 appointments next month.

Today, I really should take Chipper for a walk, I should go to the hardware store to see if they can cut me some plywood for a desk project here.  Saw Sherri this morning, and she said she's going to bring me some pizza.

Will be taking Dawn home this afternoon.  Hope the roads are clear by then.

Roads were pretty clear for taking Dawn home yesterday.  Took Chipper to the park there in Otsego.  Chipper plowed through the snow.  Fortunately, I have a 16 foot leash, so I was able to walk on the cleared roadway in the park MOST of the time.
I'll probably take Chipper down to the boardwalk along the river later, when it warms up a bit.

Did you get a lot of snow LFF?  The snow we got last week melted in a couple of days.  I am happy about that.  Hopefully will stay away the next couple of weeks.....I have 4 appointments to do between now and the 15th.


I got a bit scared when I arrived at SATW this morning.  Where were most of the post?  Then I looked down and noticed I was not logged in.   Sometimes I have to log in which irritates me when I have it fixed for me to stay loggged in.  

Speaking of logging in......I know it is for my protection....but going through many steps to get your bank account or even online my chart from the doctor's office can really agitate me.

I am going shopping for birthday cards today.....have 3 Feb birthdays....one is my mother.....she will be 100 on the 17th and the family in FL is wanting people to send her cards to be read to her....he eyesight is failing now.  As soon as  I finish on SATW I am calling her to see how she is doing.  Second thought doing it now and will finish this post then.

Only got about 5 inches of snow here.  It's going to stick around awhile I fear.  I have 2 appointments this month- podiatrist, and my second Covid shot.
Forumotion does the login thing periodically for security too.  Maybe that's a reason some members don't come in.
I hope your Mom is okay, Glad.  My Mom turns 94 on the 14th of this month.  I ordered her some silky pajamas personalized with her name.
I hope to take Chipper to the boardwalk today again.

Good evening all. ope everyone as  a great week . Here it is February already and we're going to get down right cold here by the end of this week, starting on Thurs .The weekend it will get down past zero here. Not looking forward to that at all.

Margie, I too am dreading such cold. In trailer parks,
water pipes often freeze due to heat tapes not working.
Ours will be OK, but some people probably don't check theirs.
That groundhog probably already popped out and saw his shadow!

Sam Campbell died in 1962.
He was born in 1895, wrote a series of books about
animals and their ways. He was also a radio personality,
among other things. His bibliography (?) makes no mention of a wife.
She may have been a fiction to supplement his writings.

Thanks, Joyous.  I slept in this morning, filled 8 finch socks. took Chipper outside, went to the Jim, moved the desktop computer in the bedroom, and here I am catching up on my emails.

Used a heating 'cable' on my mobile homes- forgot what it's called.  Tried a heat 'tape' my first winter- touched itself and burned out.  The 'cable' could cross over itself- had no problems.  Used cables on 3 mobile homes over 20 years.

Have to take a shower today, wash my hair.  Then take a package to the hardware store to ship.  Take Chipper for a walk too.

We have lived in our mobile home (Trailer) 35 years.

I wasn't aware that hardware stores sent out packages!

I begin to feel like my old self again.
I drove to the bank this morning and felt comfortable.

I lived 7 years in a '69 12X60, with no a/c.   Moved closer to town, into a '78 14X70, with air in the back bedroom.  Lived there 3 years.  Wasn't happy.  Bought a '71 12X60, with a 6X10 add-on, and a 20X20 add on porch- had central air!  Lived there 7 years before Sally invited me to move in with her.
Our True Value Hardware is also our UPS store.

I think ours is a 60-something, 60-some feet X either 12 or 14 feet, 2 bedroom,
1 full bath, one bathroom with shower, no tub, an expando about 5 or 6 feet by 12 
I am guessing, a decent size porch, which we enjoy a lot in warm weather. No 
neighbor on the porch side. We're blessed with more yard than most, which we 
use for growing veggies, feeding birds, also a birdbath with flowers growing around it.
I cannot imagine living anywhere else. Although one day it could happen.

Sally was before Mary.  She was one of Mary's eight Sisters.  She also died of lung cancer, 14 years before Mary did.

Right now, I don't feel like doing much, but we'll see, as the day goes on.  Had home made banana bread for breakfast that Penny and her GrandDaughter, Ruby brought over yesterday. (very heavy!)

I made banana bread earlier in the week and cut the large loaf in half and sent it over to the grandkids.  I ate a small piece one day and another the next.

Today I go to diabetic speciaist......so we will see if banana bread hurt me to eat.  (LOL)

I ate  a half a loaf yesterday, and the other half for breakfast today.  
Now I'm eating some crackers to lighten the heaviness I'm feeling.

We have a slice of homemade/Bran bread each morning 
with our /coffee for me/tea for Himself.

Today has proven to be a blessing. I went to Meijer to
refill my Metoprolol prescription, hoping I had enough cash with
me. BC/BS paid for it. She gave me the generic. I wasn't sure,
so I called Henry Ford Hosp. pharmacy, where the original was
written. She said my original was generic. So that was a gift.

Took Chipper downtown for a walk, seeing as we're going to be under a winter weather warning for the next week.

Took Chipper out at 3 this morning, and the snow was just starting.  Thought to myself, why did I cancel my tax appointment for this morning?  Probably because the 50+ schools around this area announced they would be closed today.  At 7 this morning, we'd gotten 4 inches of snow, and it was still falling, as was the temperature.  As I shoveled by the front door, salted there with pet-safe salt (that I had purchased), and shoveled a path for Chipper and me, people leaving for work told me "Don't go anywhere if you don't have to.".  I guess cancelling my appointment was a good idea.  I'll have to call and reschedule later this morning.

I'm trying to visualize what the weather channel showing and the fact that
we had heavy snowfall before 10:00 P.M. and it began in your area about 3:00
A.M. The pattern showed the snow going from South/West across toward North/East.
Shouldn't Western Michigan have snow before Eastern Michigan?

I may not visit my little friend today, due to freezing temperature.

Yep.  Here in West Michigan, we tell people "You saw it here first! ( the snow)

Well, they were wrong this time. WE already had 3 inches of snow
before it even started in your area. 
Personally, if this is our last snowfall for 2021, I will be happy.
Poor little birds are standing line, or should I say, fluttering in
line for the feeder. I'm concerned about them finding shelter.

My little friend probably missed me yesterday. I hope to see
him today.

Took Chipper out at 3 this morning.  Came in and slept till 7.  Took Chipper out again.  Brought him in and went back outside.  Ran my car awhile, and shoveled for an hour.  Came back in for a bit to thaw my hands.  Went out and shoveled a bit more.  Now I'm in having turkey meat loaf for breakfast.

Took Chipper out at 10 last night, 4 this morning, and again at 7.  I might stay home today.  Have more shoveling to do, and the roads won't get much better because rock salt does have its limits. If the temperature of the roadway is lower than about 15 degrees F (- 9 C), the salt won't have any effect on the ice. The solid salt simply can't get into the structure of the frozen water to start the dissolving process.

It's better that you stay home when weather makes travel
iffy. I haven't walked around our park due to ice. I'm in that age group 
where falling usually means broken bones. My daughter drove around 
to pick me up yesterday. I visited my little friend. Today may be the same.

The sun is shining and that  is always a good sign.

I'm hearing a lot of stuff about what is happening in Govt. Until it's
proven fact, I'm remaining silent.

Took Chipper out at 4 this morning.  Have a podiatrist appointment at 8:30.  Taking Dawn to Kalamazoo at 4 this afternoon.  Hopefully the roads will be decent...
