No plans for today, we have a freeze warning for the next two nights. It's 53F right now at 5:30am but the next two nights, will be in the low 20s.

Just finishing of the chores then visiting friends in the afternoon.

Everyone has something going on which is a good thing. Staying home can be so peaceful, but it can also become a habit and being a recluse is not a good thing.
Ray and I went to ALDI. I bought Baby wipes, a 3 pack, which I don't need. After listening to the two warning us to stockpile for the coming Hyperinflation, I determined that Baby wipes are a necessity for my life. I hope to keep at least a 3 pack in store, among other things.
I visited Little Chuckie. Lovely visit. Then visited my daughter, gr.daughter, grandson, they each signed a petition we hope to avoid rigged elections in future. I
really dislke asking people to sign, but it needs doing and it might as well be me doing what needs doing.

Jackie, I should have been more considerate with my post. I do understand. However, you do get out as much as possible.

Corrie ten Boom and her family helped Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II and, by all accounts, saved nearly 800 lives.

Who Was Corrie ten Boom?

Cornelia "Corrie" ten Boom grew up in a devoutly religious family. During World War II, she and her family harbored hundreds of Jews to protect them from arrest by Nazi authorities. Betrayed by a fellow Dutch citizen, the entire family was imprisoned. Corrie survived and started a worldwide ministry and later told her story in a book entitled The Hiding Place.

Early Life

Cornelia Arnolda Johanna ten Boom was born on April 15, 1892, in Haarlem, Netherlands, near Amsterdam. Known as "Corrie" all her life, she was the youngest child, with two sisters, Betsie and Nollie, and one brother, Willem. Their father, Casper, was a jeweler and watchmaker. Cornelia was named after her mother.

The ten Boom family lived in the Beje house in Haarlem (short for Barteljorisstraat, the street where the house was located) in rooms above Casper's watch shop. Family members were strict Calvinists in the Dutch Reformed Church. Faith inspired them to serve society, offering shelter, food and money to those in need. In this tradition, the family held a deep respect for the Jewish community in Amsterdam, considering them "God's ancient people."

Seeking a Vocation

After the death of her mother and a disappointing romance, Corrie trained to be a watchmaker and in 1922 became the first woman licensed as a watchmaker in Holland. Over the next decade, in addition to working in her father's shop, she established a youth club for teenage girls, which provided religious instruction as well as classes in the performing arts, sewing and handicrafts.

World War II Changes Everything

In May 1940, the German Blitzkrieg ran though the Netherlands and the other Low Countries. Within months, the "Nazification" of the Dutch people began and the quiet life of the ten Boom family was changed forever. During the war, the Beje house became a refuge for Jews, students and intellectuals. The façade of the watch shop made the house an ideal front for these activities. A secret room, no larger than a small wardrobe closet, was built into Corrie's bedroom behind a false wall. The space could hold up to six people, all of whom had to stand quiet and still. A crude ventilation system was installed to provide air for the occupants. When security sweeps came through the neighborhood, a buzzer in the house would signal danger, allowing the refugees a little over a minute to seek sanctuary in the hiding place.

A crisp 25F here this morning, but at least no wind. Hoping it will warm up later, as we need to run into the big city for a bit.

Jackie that is great your church is having a special service for Ukraine.  God knows and hears all the prayers around the world and He will answer those prayers.

Windwalker, may I ask which Big city? For years I loved big cities. I have now reverted to my childhood love of woods, fresh country air, growing into the final years.
Jackie, Mike Huckabee had as a guest last night an American man who had moved to Ukraine a few years ago. When the attack began, a friend of his managed an escape for him. It was very interesting and settled my mind that this is true.
Today I did a load of laundry, visited Little Chuckie. Now I'm sitting here, safe, lazy, blessed while others are in great danger. I am thankful for the blessing GOD has bestowed upon me and my family. I have brothers who were in harms way years ago, one in the thick of the Vietnam horror. One served in S. Korea and now has been diagnosed with Leukemia. The US Military finally admits that Agent Orange WAS used there and DOES cause Leukemia. One brother served on a ship in the US Navy. He never spoke of battle. One brother was not called into service due to his left hand, arm and chest being much smaller than the right. He did just about everything other men did, but was not called for Service.

Jackie, when this began, I heard that Russians living in Ukraine were totally against Putin's aggression.

If I'm not there to see what is actually happening, I'm at a loss for what to believe. I know there are lies from both sides during a war.

Here we are, a brand-new Monday. I hope everyone has a nice start to the new week. I have an errand for today, and then back home. 32F this morning and the sun is just coming up.

Hi Windwalker! 32 here too right now.

Almost 11 am and we are at 51 degrees with plenty of sunshine and some wind ☴ 

I am making kettle beef for lunch will peel potatoes to mash.   Possibly a nice toss salad and that's our meal for today.

55.4 F and 13C. Feels warm and we had a lovely walk this morning. Lots of blossom out in the hedgerows and daffodils and polyanthus in the garden. Had pizza for lunch. How do you make Kettle beef Glad?

Joyous that post you got on utube is horrible. You have to be so careful what you say on the internet. The journalists death was tragic.

Today just the grocery shopping but a good job out the way.

First: HAPPY PI Day!

This has been a lovely day.
I vacuumed all carpeted area, went to the bank,
trimmed all the roses, visited Little Chuckie and my son Chuck. A short visit with my daughter, gr.daughter, and sort of got roped into taking their doggie, Opie, for a short ride. He loves to "GOFER", his word for go for a ride.

Have you known anyone who was bitten by a Bat? I know a young woman who recently was bitten for the 3rd time! Yes, 3rd! The first time she had the Pros come out and get rid of them. She had to take the rabies shots. About a year later, another bite, Same procedure. Last week, again! Rabies shots again. Enough. She is selling her house and moving.

Too late.  After the 3rd bite, she turns into a vampire!

Good morning! The prediction, is for rain today. So no need in me making plans.

Mornin' Windwalker and all!  Hope to take Chipper out later, but right now, I hurt too much.

Busy week so far.  Taking son into town in a few minuets.

We may get rain this afternoon.  It is 55 degrees right now.

My little garden is sprouting!

Took Chipper out- walked him across the parking lot, around to the 'pet walk' area, and back (all with my walker- stopping a few times and sitting on it's seat)

The seat has a handle in the center of it which, if I lift on it, folds up the seat, and pulls the legs together so I can carry it up the 5 stairs to the outdoors. (I can carry it in one hand, as I hold the stair railing with the other.)

Instead of a walker, it's called a rollator, due to the wheels on it.  Price is 344.68 at walmart.

Today I washed our outerwear, scrubbed kitchen floor, visited Little Chuckie. He was disappointed when he wasn't allowed to challenge a neighborhood dog to a Dog fight. Otherwise he was great. He stood perfectly still while I cleaned his feet, not once, but twice!
Afterward I went to Meijer for ingredients for Taco soup for our St. Patrick's Day lunch by Lake Erie. Why are all stores literally not stocking any bottled water?

The rollator I have in my car Has a solid seat.  That one fits in my car better, so I leave it there for use when I go somewhere.

A rainy morning here. No plans though, so that fits perfectly.

I have a doctor appointment at 9 am so will come back this afternoon.
