Lets Chat in 2022

The stores were extra busy here this week because of what was predicted for today which is happening.  Icy and snowy mix and windy.  They say the moisture won't be a lot but the wind chill will below zero.

I bet it cold where everyone is. Especially in the mid to northern areas. Stay warm and stay safe. I know I'm not going out there in it. 

So far, the 15F they predicted for last night, has not shown up. We are holding at 32F for the time being. I know it's coming, though.

Just got Turkey out of freezer to defrost and sausage and bacon for stuffing and pigs in blankets. That’s sausage wrapped in bacon and served with the Turkey. Was meant to visit daughter today but Rob has a very heavy head cold so we will see the family on Christmas day when they come here.

Spent a good hour helping Sheri look for her cat.  Went on 2nd floor, 3rd floor, first floor, outside from one end of the complex to the other.  I'm hurting so bad right  now.  I had to quit looking.  Please pray about this.

Prayers said LFF. Hope for a speedy recovery.

Cats like to wander but usually come home when they are cold and hungry. Prayers continued for you and a safe return to Topaz.

Today is a type of weather I dislike a lot.
It reminds me of a time a few years ago.
Ray and I had been to a Meijer about 5
miles from home, extremely cold day. His
Escort wagon quit on us in the outside lane
of a busy road. Somehow he got it into a
driveway into a factory. He called a neighbor
and we waited. Nobody came. WE were getting dangerously cold. He walked out to the main
road and a good man brought us home. it
seems the neighbor had gone to the wrong store.
Non the less, that was an experience not to be
repeated.

It is 13F right now here in the South, our windchill is at 1F thus far. It's either Global Warming, or Putin. Just think, there are people out here somewhere, that can't heat their house because of the high prices from all the spending.

Leave it to LFF to bring us some smiles on a cold morning the day before Christmas.

At least the cold and snow makes the kids happy.  For me I am home bound but that's ok.  Guess I'll make some more chocolate chip cookies.

Tomorrow is going to be odd.  Son has to work from 10 until 6.  I will make a ham dinner but it will be supper. 
The grands all have different places to be now that they are on their own.  Guess they will stop by at some point to get their envelopes.  They like cash and I don't have to get out to shop for something they might not want.  I have stayed in since Wednesday morning and will continue until it gets up past the freezing mark.

We're at 11F right now, and the neighbor called to see if I had heat.  Told her I don't know because I never turn it on.  66F in here now.

Had a lovely Christmas Eve with just hubby and myself and having a friend come over for Christmas lunch.

I wasn't giving up hope on Sheri finding her cat, Topaz.  Today, I asked if she had looked in her washer.  She really laid into me, saying "Why would he be there?!  Honestly, you ask the Dumbest questions!   Why do you keep asking me, when I told you!  I've looked everywhere!  He's not in my F****** apartment!  You're so F***** stupid!"  She stormed out and slammed my door.  
 
3 minutes later, she came into my apartment, exclaiming "I found him!  I found my Topaz!  I heard him crying.  He was in my entertainment center!"  Then she was so apologetic, telling me over and over that she was sorry, she didn't mean what she'd said,and "You know I love you!"
 
Now I have another problem.  After not hearing from Michelle for 3 days (Has been in Tennessee with Family), she texted me that she missed me, loved me so much!.  When she told me her heat was off there, I said "Wish I could hold you, and keep you warm.", and she said she wished I was holding her too.
My Sister and Sheri say Michelle doesn't love me.  She loves my money, and what I can give her, or do for her.  My Sister has bailed me out financially, with proceeds I'll be getting from the sale of Mom's house.  Sheri says my seeing Michelle is betraying Kathy, my Sister.   Sheri and Kathy want me to have nothing to do with Michelle.

Dear LFF, do you really want advice? As a friend, I'm
telling you, my opinion is that you won't take advice
because the attention Michelle gives you is an ego
boost and sadly you need that.
Please, be honest with yourself. For some reason you have a low opinion of your own worth. The fact that you're wrong is a moot point.
I'm praying that the good LORD will reveal to you just how worthy you are.

Sheri was upset.  She'd lost her cat.  I was trying to be calm and helpful.  So I got rejected.  I should be used to that.

Speaking of Gracie, she got down behind my desk last night.  I couldn't get her out.  Started moving stuff off my desks, so I could move them, and she jumped up through a small space I couldn't reach her through.

Grandma is  tired.  Busy day!

Michelle texted me this morning that they'll be heading home from Tennessee today.  They had a cold Christmas with no power, but at least they were together.
Told her I had an Elvis Christmas- a Blue Christmas.  She asked if I'd like to hang out with her on Thursday, if I'm up to it, and I told her I couldn't promise anything.  I sat, home all day yesterday, watching TV.  Will probably do the same thing today.

I hope each of my fellow Shouters enjoyed the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour as we should.
I was given more gifts than I need, items of clothing.
One son and daughter in law said they have a gift for me at their house. I never know what to give so I put money in a Christmas card.
Our roads were slippery Christmas afternoon/evening.
I didn't think it wise to risk my smaller car so I rode with my daughter in her 84 Ford. Those were big cars.

I spent Christmas Day with my Gracie.
And I got a shirt. (I say as I kick it.)

Today is the day after the day after Christmas.  Had trouble limping over to the facilities with my walker.  My little Gracie didn't help much, with her walking in front of my walker, mewing at me.  She's my walking coach, encouraging me with "Come on.  You can do it!  My canned food is in the kitchen!"
She has dry cat food ( Friskies seafood blend), but I give her a tablespoonful of Friskies beef with Gravy in the morning, as well as in the early evening.  It didn't take her long to get used to Temptations cat treats, of which, I give her a few twice a day.
Have no idea what I'll do today.  Right now, I'm going to take a nap.

Well, it's warmer this morning than the recent ones. 34F right now, and holding steady. No plans for today,

Hope to get above freezing today.  Need to get out tomorrow for grandson's appointment at mid day.

Most of the snow is off the roads but still some in driveway and grass.  Glad to see the sun coming out from the clouds.

Hope it works out for you, Glad.  Michelle asked me yesterday, if I'd like to hang out with her on Thursday (I'm thinking that she wants to because I can get my Social Security check early on Thursday).  Granted, I have a list of things I need, but Just walking (with my walker) just to the kitchen, bedroom, or the bathroom is very painful.  I'm sure not going to go outside, clear 6 inches+ of snow off my car, and then drive to Plainwell, just to sit in the car while she does her shopping, not even if she volunteers to come to Allegan and pick me up. (She gets her check on Thursday, so she can go buy clothes or something, and then call me later in the month, when her automatic bill payments are withdrawn, and give me a sob story that she doesn't have enough in her account, so she'll have overdraft fees, possible cancellation of her insurance, etc. plus she'll want to use any food stamps I have left.
I'm tempted to tell Sheri I'll give her $50 to use my Food Stamp card, and pick up the stuff I need.

The day after Christmas was spent watching Ray's gr.daughter set up the new computer. Ray was wrapping water pipes under our trailer. They were frozen form the awful cold. Apparently the old heat tapes (or whatever they're called). I can tell you being without bathroom facilities is ? prehistoric ?
Today everything is much better. I went to Home Depot for a faucet. The people who work there are extra nice and helpful.
Tomorrow I must go to Penney's to exchange a sweater , a Christmas gift.
Jackie, it seems you did what we're supposed to do, accept what is given and be thankful.
LFF, does Gracie use a litterbox? If so, who empties it? Just wondering if it's heavy. I believe you're entitled to some Home Care.

Gracie uses a litterbox, and I scoop out her 'presents' several times a day, replacing litter as necessary.I use a very fine clumping litter that makes cleaning the box almost unnecessary.  I deposit her presents in a plastic bad lining a small flip-top waste basket.  As those bags are filled, I remove them, tie them up, and place them in my large wastebasket.  Good use for those bags that accumulate.
I'm handling most things myself so far, but I can see a need fo help in the not-so-distant future.  Sheri is going to get groceries for me today.
