Here's another day.  I don't plan on going anywhere- still sore.  Not released to drive yet.

No plans for today, I was going to mow the grass, but right after our cookout, the rain came hard and heavy. So, I have to wait until the grass dries.

Michelle came over a couple of minutes ago.  Brought me a roast she made for me.  She's going to pick up some milk and eggs for me.
Angela brought me some Texas toast yesterday, so I can make French toast tomorrow morning.

Slept off and onall night my phone kept telling me flash flood warning in my area.  I would get up and go to the window and no rain but around 3 am it was raining slightly.  The flash flood warnings was for rain that was falling just north and west of me but we got enough to settle the dust.  Guess God didn't think we needed much rain and I will just deal with it.

Sheri called yesterday to ask if I needed anything.  Told her Michelle had stopped by and bought milk and eggs for me.  Sheri asked why i didn't ask her.
Going to make some of that French Toast right now.

No plans for today. We cooked out Saturday for our 4th of July. No rain forecast for today, and I need to work on the riding mower. It mowed fine yesterday, but wouldn't crank up when I went to park it last night. Probably just a safety switch.

I don't plan on doing much of anything today.....

I've known Penny for years.  She lives at the other end of our building. 
Michelle brought me a couple of pieces of cheesecake, and fixings for a couple of Hoagies today.

Well I slept until 10 am and just now sat down at the computer after making another 2 gal of dill pickles.  So far I have 4 gal of dill and 2 gal and 1 qt of bread and butter pickles.  Already started eating the qt jar.  May not make any more the cukes are slowing down.  Hadn't plan to make relish this year still have some from last year.  But things do change here at my house.

I will watch fireworks on computer or tv this year.  Nothing else planned.

I got the mower going, there was a problem with the seat. I was in it. A stupid oversight, but at least I cleaned connections, wiring, and washed it good.

The picture was taken with my webcam, so no flash.  I posted it on facebook, copied it from there, and posted it here, so I can see how long it stays here. Glad has trouble with pics from facebook not staying.
Michelle will be picking me up in a couple of hours to take me to the doctor.

Today the sun is shining so off out on our afternoon walk today.

Hello toetapping and everyone.  Went to have lab drawn today and stopped at Aldi on the way home.  Put the groceries away then had lunch.  Time now for a bit on the computer then down for a nice nap.

Saw the physician's associate, she took off the bandages, and told me the healing looks good.  Said I can start walking again as I can tolerate it.  Said I can try driving a little.
Michelle brought me some sloppy joe mix, buns, baked beans, and tortellini.

Hope to take a shower today, maybe drop off my  absentee ballot request downtown, perhaps take Freckles for a ride out to my Sister's, drive to Plainwell, pick up a stroller for Freckles, and maybe stop by Michelle's.

Glad to hear, you're doing better. I bet it was the sloppy joes, they fix anything wrong with me.

I just sent off my absentee ballot request off yesterday.  Our primary in MO is in August.

Today I go see my diabetic specialist.  I think she will be pleased with the lab for A1C (down 7.9 to 7.1) and not sure how to read the other parts of the lab. I usually have high cholesterol readings.

Not looking forward to getting out in the heat today. But has to be done.  Right now it is cloudy......wish it would rain but not calling for it today.  Yesterday our heat index got up to 115.  I will take a big mug of water with me.   My appointment is 10:40

Stay cool Glad E Olah. Can't say we have or will get type of heat. I wish I could have sent you some rain. Three weeks of rain every day is enough. The mosquitoes are happy though. First time in 4 years I have seen them here.

Drove out to my sister's (45  minute drive).  The car needed that after sitting for 3 weeks.  Stayed there a while.  Drove to Plainwell (An hour's drive from there.) Went to Salvation Army store and bought a stroller for Chipper.  My hip is hurting a bit tonight..

Taking off to Plainwell in a few.  Will pick up Michelle and go to breakfast.  Have a case worker coming over at 11 a.m.

Have a good time, and a safe trip. No plans for today, and I'm glad.

Got Vera’s funeral today at 2.30 pm, family arriving 12.20 pm. Have five large pizzas in the oven and will heat them shortly.
Rob is naturally upset at his mum passing but hope it’s put to rest today. Cremation followed by Memorial service in Methodist church. People back here tonight for drinks and possible a Chinese takeaway.

Thanks Spice we could sure use some rain....seems to be all around us within a few miles but skips our house.....these are brief summer showers but we could use any amount.

LFF glad to learn you are back to driving....but please be careful.

2Anne I know it is hard to lose a family member especially when they have lived such a long life.  Sending prayers of comfort to you and hubby.

Jackie I am glad you have your church group to help pass time.  It  sounds like they do a lot of activities.

Going to turn the a/c on for a bit till the temperature goes down enough outside that I can open the slider and get some sleep.

Going to be a busy, and really hot day today. No plans other than a couple quick errands.

My day started with a 4 a.m. text from Michelle.  My own fault.  After her billfold was stolen yesterday, with her cash, cards, I.D., etc., she'd called me, frantic!  Of course, I went to her, comforted her, helped her make all the calls she needed to. She wasn't sure if she could sleep, so after I offered to stay with her, and she declined the offer and sent me home, I told her to call if she needed anything. 
Well, she did get some sleep, but woke up with nightmares, as this all triggered memories of things that happened in the past.  So she texted me.  I drove out there, she had breakfast made for me, and I spent a few hours there,
calmed her down, and gave her some financial assistance to get her through the rest of the month (leaving me broke by the way).  I again offered to stay, but she sent me home.  Just got up from a short nap.

Thanks Jackie.  How's the saying go?  Good Samaritans finish last?

LFF, while it's understandable that Michelle is very upset. perhaps she should consider that you're still healing from surgery. Forgive me if I'm overly critical.

The Occupational Therapist (Rhonda) released me, the Physical Therapist (Beth) released me, the Physician's Assistant (Nicole) was pleased with my progress, and the Case Worker signed me off, with the advice to keep doing what I'm doing, as it appears to be working.

Good news LFF!  (about the therapy etc)

Sorry to learn Michelle's billfold was stolen.  I had that happen to me when I was in my 50's and it is not a good thing to happen to you!

It should be a quiet day. I need to mow the grass again. A shame, when you have to budget gasoline for your mower. That's the way it is in this New Green Deal world. I know what they can do with that deal though.

Will have to let the grass grow a bit, then use a scythe.  My Dad had a nice one, with about a 24" blade.
Thinking about going to the hardware store today, but just thinking about it for now.  Also thinking about taking a nap.  Guess which one sounds better!

I have two sons.  The challenged one has always mowed our yard with a gas mower.

Recently the younger son who takes care of the garden area purchased a small battery-operated mower and he loves it.  Just fits in between the garden rows.

Seems folks may go back to the old push mowers.
Someone who owns goats could hire them out.
Maybe we should all become active in political actions?
Could we possibly get sanity back?

Was up at 4 this morning, photographed my medications and sugar reading, as I do each morning, fired up my computer (had trouble with my Thunderbird retrieving my mail), fixed myself oatmeal to eat with my meds, and here I am!

Another hot day in store for us here. 105F heat index yesterday, with rain! It was so sticky outside.

A restful Sunday.  Went to church, came home and warmed up the leftover chicken and dumplings from yesterday, took a nice nap and now soon will go out to the garden.  I will make pickles again tomorrow.

Sat outside on a bench with Sheri today and talked.  She said she might make some fish for me tonight.  Then there was a disturbance in the parking lot that left a young woman in tears.   Sheri invited her upstairs to talk, so I went back to my apartment.  7:30 p.m here and I haven't heard anything more about the fish, so I may have to get something else to eat soon.

Supposed to reach the mid 80's here today.  Hoping to take Freckles for a walk in his stroller this morning.

I got the grass mowed yesterday, so today I'm going to do nothing. I think it will feel good.
